Marc Vouillot (born July 5, 1952) is a French powerlifter and strength coach with an international reputation. He has been called the "Father of French Powerlifting". [1]
Of French descent, Vouillot was born in Abidjan in Ivory Coast, on July 5, 1952. He moved to Cotonou in Dahomey seven years later because his father was engaged in public works for a French firm, then instrumental in conducting major African construction projects. [2] There, Vouillot first started as a Judoka at the age of 7. [2] In 1963, Vouillot's family relocated to Argenteuil where he was introduced to Olympic Weightlifting by World champion Henri Ferrari. [2]
Vouillot has competed in powerlifting for over 30 years and was French national powerlifting champion in 1981, 1982 and 1996. [1] He also competed in many natural bodybuilding contests on national level.
Vouillot has coached many powerlifting champions, including the French super heavy weight Jean-Pierre Brulois, and American Sarah Robertson. [1] He has also worked as a strength and conditioning consultant with a wide range of elite athletes, like the Cuban endurance swimmer Nino Fraguela. [3]

Angling was contested at 1900 Olympics in Paris. At a series of competitions in August, some 600 fisherman, of whom 40 were from 5 countries other than France, participated in 6 separate events. These events have generally not been classified as official, although the IOC has never decided which events were "Olympic" and which were not. There was no such designation at the time of the Games.

Honduras sent a delegation to compete at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7–18 September 2016. This was the nation's sixth appearance at a Summer Paralympiad after it debuted at the 1996 Summer Paralympics. The Honduran delegation to Rio de Janeiro consisted of two athletes: powerlifter Gabriel Zelaya Díaz and short-distance swimmer Emmanuel Díaz. Both competitors were not ranked in their respective competitions after Gabriel Zelaya Díaz was unable to lift any weights in his three tries and Emmanuel Díaz was two minutes late arriving to his event.
Henri Ferrari was a French male former weightlifter, who competed in the light heavyweight class and represented France at international competitions. He won the bronze medal at the 1946 World Weightlifting Championships in the 82.5 kg category. In Argenteuil in the 1960s, Henri Ferrari coached a number of future champions to include Marc Vouillot among others.

Matthias Yap Zhe Yao is a Singaporean Powerlifter. He is an Asian Champion and holds several national records under the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) and is a self-funded athlete, coached under CoachbyMARC, founded by his elder brother, Marcus Yap.
