Østfold is a county in Eastern Norway,which from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2023 was part of Viken. Østfold borders Akershus and southwestern Sweden,while Buskerud and Vestfold are on the other side of Oslofjord. The county's administrative seat is Sarpsborg. The county controversially became part of the newly established Viken County on 1 January 2020. On 1 January 2024,Østfold was re-established as an independent county,however without the former municipality of Rømskog,which was amalgamated with the Akershus municipality Aurskog-Høland in 2020.
Spydeberg was a municipality in former Østfold county,Norway,until December 31. 2019. At January 1. 2020 it became a part of the new and greater municipality named Indre Østfold Kommune after the region,together with Askim and Trøgstad and Eidsberg and Hobøl kommuner (municipalities).

Førde is a former municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane,Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. The administrative center was the town of Førde which in 2016 had 10,255 inhabitants. Other villages in Førde municipality included Bruland,Holsen,Moskog,and Haukedalen. The Øyrane area in the town of Førde was a large industrial/commercial area for the region. The European Route E39 highway passed through the municipality,and it passed by the lake Holsavatnet.
Mysen is the administrative center of the municipality of Eidsberg in the county of Østfold in Norway.
Holsavatnet is a lake which lies in the municipality of Sunnfjord in Vestland county,Norway. The lake is located about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) east of the town of Førde and about 9.5 kilometres (5.9 mi) east of the village of Bruland. The village of Holsen lies at the eastern end of the lake. The European route E39 highway passes 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) west of the lake. The water from the lake eventually flows into the river Jølstra.
Mysen Station is a railway station located at Mysen in Eidsberg,Norway. Situated 64.77 kilometers (40.25 mi) from Oslo Central Station,it is served hourly by the L22 service of the Oslo Commuter Rail. It is the terminus of most L22 services. The station had 251,000 boarding and disembarking passengers in 2012.

Eidsberg Station is a railway station of the Eastern Østfold Line located in at Finnestad in Eidsberg,Norway. Situated 68.63 kilometers (42.64 mi) from Oslo Central Station,it is only served by extra rush-hour R22 service of the Oslo Commuter Rail. The station,which originally provided a passing loop,was designed by Balthazar Lange and opened on 24 November 1882. The passing loop was demolished in 1989 and the station unmanned. It was renovated as a heritage site in 2014.

Holsen is a village in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county,Norway. The village is located at the eastern end of the lake Holsavatnet,along County Road 13. The town of Førde lies about 20 kilometres (12 mi) to the west,and the village of Haukedalen lies about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) to the east. Holsen is the site of Holsen Church and Holsen school.
Haukedalen Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Sunnfjord Municipality in Vestland county,Norway. It is located in the village of Haukedalen. It one of the two churches for the Holsen og Haukedalen parish which is part of the Sunnfjord prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white,wooden church was built in a long church style in 1885 using designs by the architect Hartvig Sverdrup Eckhoff. The church seats about 120 people.

Indre Østfold is a municipality in the region of Indre Østfold in Østfold county. The municipality was established on 1 January 2020 by a merger of the five municipalities Askim,Eidsberg,Hobøl,Spydeberg and Trøgstad. The municipality has a total population of just under 45,000,spread out over several small towns such as Askim,Mysen,Spydeberg,Skjønhaug and Tomter. This is quite unusual for Norwegian municipalities.
