Maria Consuelo Gil Puyat-Reyes (born November 26,1937,in Manila) [1] is a Filipino politician and diplomat. She served as ambassador of the Philippines to Chile from 1999 [2] and as a congresswoman from Makati from 1987 to 1992. [3]
Puyat-Reyes is the daughter of Deogracias Puyat,a lawyer,and Patria Gil. She is the granddaughter of Pedro Gil,a diplomat and legislator from Manila. She attended St. Paul's College where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. She also has a master's degree in business economics from the Center for Research and Communication. [1] She was married to Gregorio Reyes.
Throughout the 1980s,Puyat-Reyes headed the annual anti-tuberculosis fund campaign organized by the Philippine Tuberculosis Society. [4] In January 2000,the Makati Regional Trial Court ordered Puyat-Reyes to be arrested for failing to testify regarding the estate of her late husband. The case is about her and her stepdaughters,Christina and Rina. [5]
Maria Gloria Macaraeg Macapagal-Arroyo,often referred to as PGMA or GMA,is a Filipino academic and politician who served as the 14th president of the Philippines from 2001 to 2010. She is the longest-serving president since Ferdinand Marcos. Before her presidency,she was the 10th vice president of the Philippines from 1998 to 2001 under President Joseph Estrada,becoming the first female vice president. She was also a senator from 1992 to 1998. After her presidency,she was elected as the representative of Pampanga's 2nd district in 2010 and continues to serve in this role. She also served as the speaker of the House from 2018 to 2019,and as deputy speaker from 2016 to 2017 and 2022 to 2023. Alongside former president Sergio Osmeña,she is one of only two Filipinos to hold at least three of the four highest offices:vice president,president,and house speaker.
The 1995 election of members to the Senate of the Philippines was the 25th election to the Senate of the Philippines. It was held on Monday,May 8,1995,to elect 12 of the 24 seats in the Senate. Filipinos protected the ballot boxes with their lives and campaigned against traditional politicians who used bribery,flying voters,violence,election rigging,stealing of ballot boxes,etc. The Philippine National Police (PNP) listed five people dead and listed more than 200 hotspots before and 300 hotspots during the election.

The mutineers called for the ousting of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo,and seized the Rizal function room on the second floor of the Manila Peninsula Hotel along Ayala Avenue. Former Vice-president Teofisto Guingona,Jr. as well as some of the soldiers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines joined the march to the hotel.

The Kalayaan Flyover,also known as the EDSA–Kalayaan Flyover,is a four-lane flyover connecting Gil Puyat Avenue,Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA),Kalayaan Avenue,and 32nd Street in Metro Manila,Philippines. Located primarily in Makati with a short portion in Taguig,it facilitates access from the Makati Central Business District to Bonifacio Global City and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5).
