Biography

Education

A graduate of HEC Paris (1986) and ENA (Jean Monnet class, 1990), she also holds a master's degree in law. [1]

Career

Marie-Ange Debon began in 1990 as a magistrate at the Cour des Comptes. She then joined France 3 as director of management then deputy general director, in charge of Resources. In 1998, she joined the Thomson group as deputy financial director, then from July 2003 as general secretary. [2]

Marie-Ange Debon joined the Suez group in 2008 as general secretary, responsible for legal and auditing. In 2009, she also took responsibility for Water and Cleanliness Projects, Information Systems, Risks/Investments, Insurance and Purchasing. [3]

In April 2013, she was appointed Deputy General Manager of Suez in charge of International.

From March 2018 to December 2019, she served as Deputy General Manager of Suez in charge of France, Italy and Central and Eastern Europe.

In July 2020, she was appointed president of the management board of Keolis, one of the French leaders in public transport network management. She takes office on August 24, 2020. [4]

Directorships

Marie-Ange Debon has been an independent director of TechnipFMC since 2010. She is also chair of the audit committee. [5]

In May 2018, she became an independent director of Arkema. In November 2019, she was appointed independent director of Française des jeux (FDJ), and president of the CSR committee. [6]

Other mandates

Marie-Ange Debon was a member of the college of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers from 2008 to 2014.

Working at MEDEF, she was president of the MEDEF Corporate Law commission between 2009 and 2013, before becoming vice-president of MEDEF International in 2016. She also chairs the France-Azerbaijan Business Leaders Council, and co-chairs the France-Morocco Business Leaders Club.

Marie-Ange Debon is also a member of the Trilateral Commission.

On June 17, 2021, she was unanimously elected president of the Union of Public and Rail Transport (UTP) by the organization's board of directors for a two-year term. [7] She succeeds Thierry Mallet, CEO of Transdev and president of UTP from June 2017 to June 2021.
