Marie Amachoukeli (born 16 July 1979), sometimes credited as Marie Amachoukeli-Barsacq, is a French film director and screenwriter of Georgian descent. [1] Her directorial debut Party Girl competed in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and won the Camera d'Or. [2]

Party Girl is a 2014 French drama film written and directed by Marie Amachoukeli, Claire Burger and Samuel Theis. It won the Un Certain Regard Ensemble Prize and the Camera d'Or award at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. The story is inspired by the life of Angélique Litzenburger, who played herself in the film, it also stars the co-director Samuel Theis and his siblings Mario, Séverine and Cynthia. The title of the film is derived from the song of the same name by Chinawoman.

The Tribe is a 2014 Ukrainian crime drama film written and directed by Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy. Starring Hryhoriy Fesenko, Yana Novikova and Roza Babiy, the film is set in a boarding school for deaf teenage students, where a novice scholar is drawn into an institutional system of organized crime, involving robbery and prostitution. Lukas Dhont is a Belgian film director and screenwriter. He made his feature-length debut in 2018 with Girl, a drama film inspired by the story of Nora Monsecour which focuses on a trans girl pursuing a career as a ballerina. Girl premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Caméra d'Or award, for best first feature film, as well as the Queer Palm. It received the André Cavens Award for Best Film given by the Belgian Film Critics Association (UCC) and was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards. It received nine nominations at the 9th Magritte Awards and won four, including Best Flemish Film and Best Screenplay for Dhont.
