Marieke Blaauw (born 1979, in Hilversum) is a Dutch animator.

Life

Blaauw was born in 1979 in Hilversum. She studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. [1] She graduated in 2002. In 2005 she worked as an animator on the stop motion children series Miffy at studio Pedri in Ankeveen. In 2007 she co-founded animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke together with Job Roggeveen and Joris Oprins. Job, Joris & Marieke works on commissioned work, music videos and short animated films.

In 2013 they released their animated short film MUTE. MUTE won, among others, the Grand Prix and the audience award at the Holland Animatie Film Festival in 2013. [2]

In 2014 the City of Utrecht commissioned Job, Joris & Marieke to make the short film/music video Bon Voyage! This film was to promote the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht in 2015. [3] The title song Bon Voyage! was composed by Dutch singer songwriter Blaudzun

In 2015 their short animation film A Single Life was nominated for the Academy Award for best animated short film. [4] [5] [6] [7] The film was also nominated for the Cartoon d’Or [8] and has won 15 international prizes.

In 2015 they made the short animation film (Otto). (Otto) is the official Dutch entry for the Academy Award for best animated short film. [9] The film had its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. [10]

Cartoon Saloon is an Irish animation film, short film and television studio based in Kilkenny which provides film TV and short film services. The studio is best known for its animated feature films The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, The Breadwinner and Wolfwalkers. Their works have received five Academy Award nominations, their first four feature length works all received nominations for Best Animated Feature and one for Best Animated Short Film. The company also developed the cartoon series Skunk Fu!, Puffin Rock, Dorg Van Dango and Vikingskool. As of 2020, the studio employs 300 animators.

Theodore Asenov Ushev is a Bulgarian animator, graphic designer, illustrator and multimedia artist in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Tomm Moore Irish film director

Thomas "Tomm" Moore is an Irish filmmaker, animator, illustrator and comics artist. He co-founded Cartoon Saloon with Nora Twomey and Paul Young, an animation studio and production company based in Kilkenny, Ireland. His first three feature films, The Secret of Kells (2009), co-directed with Nora Twomey, Song of the Sea (2014) and Wolfwalkers (2020), co-directed with Ross Stewart, have received critical acclaim and were all nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Bernard B. Brown was an American sound engineer and composer, who wrote the scores for many early animated cartoons produced by Leon Schlesinger Productions for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. He won an Academy Award in the category Sound Recording and was nominated for seven more in the same category. He was also nominated three times in the category Best Visual Effects. He worked on more than 520 films between 1930 and 1958.
