Job Roggeveen

Job Roggeveen (born 1979 in Geldrop) is a film director and writer.

He studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. [1] He graduated in 2003. In 2007 he co-founded animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke together with Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw. Job, Joris & Marieke works on commissioned work, music videos and short animated films. Job is also an instrumentalist and a composer. He composes the soundtracks for all the films by Job, Joris & Marieke. In 2011 he started the music project Happy Camper. Happy Camper released two studio albums, an EP and a single. In 2011 Happy Camper won an Edison Award. [2] He is also part of the Dutch band El Pino and the Volunteers.

In 2013 Job, Joris & Marieke released their animated short film MUTE. MUTE won, among others, the Grand Prix and the audience award at the Holland Animatie Film Festival in 2013. [3]

In 2014 the City of Utrecht commissioned Job, Joris & Marieke to make the short film/music video Bon Voyage! This film was to promote the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht in 2015. [4] The title song Bon Voyage! was composed by Dutch singer songwriter Blaudzun

In 2015 their short animation film A Single Life was nominated for the Academy Award for best animated short film. [5] [6] [7] [8] The film was also nominated for the Cartoon d’Or [9] and has won 15 international prizes.

In 2015 they made the short animation film (Otto). (Otto) is the official Dutch entry for the Academy Award for best animated short film. [10] The film had its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. [11]

<i>Blind Vaysha</i> 2016 film by Theodore Ushev

Blind Vaysha is a 2016 animated short by Theodore Ushev, produced by Marc Bertrand for the National Film Board of Canada, with the participation of ARTE France. Based on a story by Georgi Gospodinov, the film tells the story of a girl who sees the past out of her left eye and the future from her right—and so is unable to live in the present. Montreal actress Caroline Dhavernas performed the narration for the film, in both its French and English language versions. The film incorporates music from Bulgarian musician and composer Kottarashky and is his and Ushev's fourth collaboration.

TVPaint Animation is a 2D paint and digital animation software package developed by TVPaint Developpement SARL based in Lorraine (France). Originally released for Amiga in 1991, version 3.0 (1994) introduced support for other platforms. In 1999, the last Amiga version 3.59 was released as free download.

The animation Showcase is a traveling film screening, curating animated short films. The screening started in 2016, with the support of the private members club Soho House, with the intention of spotting the upcoming creative talents in the animation industry and to promote animation in the creative industry. The animation Showcase screening proposes a yearly "Best of the Year" selection spotting Shortlisted and Nominees for the Academy Awards category Best Animated Short Film. <i>Biidaaban (The Dawn Comes)</i> film

Biidaaban is a Canadian animated short film, directed by Amanda Strong and released in 2018. Based on the writings of Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, the film centres on Biidaaban, a young shapeshifter on a secret mission to revive the traditional First Nations ritual of harvesting sap from maple trees to make maple sugar, despite living in a contemporary urban area.
