Mariia Dudina (born 22 October 1998) [1] is a Russian handballer for Zvezda Zvenigorod.

Handball team sport played with a thrown ball and goals

Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins.

Zvezda Zvenigorod is a Russian women's handball club from Zvenigorod, near Moscow. They won the Champions League and the Champions Trophy in 2008, and the EHF Cup in 2006/07. Between 2006 and 2011 the club was coached by Russian national team trainer Evgeny Trefilov. In the summer of 2011 he was replaced by two times EHF Champions League winner head coach Zdravko Zovko.

In the summer of 2017, Dudina tested positive for meldonium at the 2017 European Junior Championship. [2]

Meldonium is a limited-market pharmaceutical, developed in 1970 by Ivars Kalviņš at the USSR Latvia Institute of Organic Synthesis, and now manufactured by the Latvian pharmaceutical company Grindeks and several generic manufacturers. It is primarily distributed in Eastern European countries as an anti-ischemia medication.

The European Women's U-19 European Handball Championship is the official competition for junior women's national handball teams of Europe. Organized by the European Handball Federation, it takes place every two years. The competition received its current name in 2004, until then it was known as the European Women's Junior Handball Championship.

It takes place every two years. Since the 2005 edition, the championship received its current name: EHF European Women's U-17 Handball Championship.

The 2015 European Women's U-17 Handball Championship is the 12th edition, which takes place in Macedonia. Sweden is the defending champion.

The IHF Women's Youth World Championship is the official competition for women's national handball teams under-18, has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 2006. It takes place every two years in even years.
