Early life and education

Mario Moya was born in Mexico and spent his childhood years in Chicago, Moya became interested in fashion at a very young age, gaining inspiration from film noir and designers like Christian Dior and Charles James. He began sewing his own designs at age thirteen. [2]

Career

He moved to New York City in his twenties to train under various designers and quickly established a reputation as a talented designer. In 1995, Thierry Mugler asked Moya to assist in the making of clothing for Mugler's private clientele in New York. Moya continued his work with Mugler in Paris, where he worked on the Spring 1997 collection. Moya then took a place on the design team of the French couture house of Jacques Fath. Moya moved back to New York to work on Marc Jacobs' collection, later becoming the head Pattern Maker at Zac Posen. [3]

Moya is now based in New York. His clients include Daphne Guinness. [4] He showed his debut collection at New York Fashion Week in February 2009. [5] He has exhibited a collection again in 2010.

Manfred Thierry Mugler was a French fashion designer, creative director and creative adviser of Mugler. In the 1970s, Mugler launched his eponymous fashion house; and quickly rose to prominence in the following decades for his avant-garde, architectural, hyperfeminine and theatrical approach to haute couture. He was one of the first designers to champion diversity in his runway shows, which often tackled racism and ageism, and incorporated non-traditional models such as drag queens, pornstars, and transgender women. In 2002, he retired from the brand, and returned in 2013 as the creative adviser.

Collette Mary Ann Dinnigan is an Australian based fashion designer. Born in South Africa, Dinnigan moved to New Zealand, then Australia, where she obtained work with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. She opened her own range in 1990, with the launch of a dry-clean only lingerie collection, and was the first Australian to launch a ready-to-wear collection, in Paris in 1995.

Project Runway All Stars is the sixth season of the Project Runway spin-off series Project Runway All Stars. The concept of the edition is Rookies vs. Vets. It features sixteen designers, eight of whom have previously competed on Project Runway All Stars, and eight of whom are part of Project Runway All Stars for the first time. Alyssa Milano will return as host and both Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi will return as judges for this season, along with one or two guest judges each week. The show premiered on January 4, 2018 on Lifetime.

Luis Estevez

Luis Estévez was a Cuban-born American fashion designer and costume designer, active between 1951 until 1997. According to the New York Times, "Luis Estevez always did make a lady look like a vamp", known for his high slits, slinky dresses and dramatic necklines.
