Sir Clive Hubert Lloyd CM is a Guyanese-British former cricketer and captain of the West Indies cricket team. Lloyd is widely regarded as one of the greatest captains of all time. As a boy he went to Chatham High School in Georgetown. At the age of 14 he was captain of his school cricket team in the Chin Cup inter-school competition. One of his childhood memories is of sitting in a tree outside the ground overlooking the sightscreen watching Garry Sobers score two centuries for West Indies v Pakistan. Lloyd captained the West Indies in three World Cups,winning in 1975 and 1979 while losing the 1983 final to India.
Shivnarine "Shiv" Chanderpaul CCH is a Guyanese cricket coach and former captain of the West Indies cricket team. Considered one of the greatest batsmen of his era,Chanderpaul is the 10th highest run scorer of all time in International cricket and the 9th highest in Test cricket. Chanderpaul was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy,and in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy Final,he had the highest contribution for West Indies with the bat,scoring 47 runs.
Ramnaresh Ronnie Sarwan is a former Guyanese cricketer who played as a batsman. He is a former member and former captain of the West Indies cricket team,in all formats. Sarwan went on to average over 40 in both the test and one day international forms of cricket. He is considered to be one of the best West Indian batters of his generation. Sarwan was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy,and was subsequently the player of the tournament.
Sir Clyde Leopold Walcott KA,GCM,OBE was a West Indian cricketer. Walcott was a member of the "three W's",the other two being Everton Weekes and Frank Worrell:all were very successful batsmen from Barbados,born within a short distance of each other in Bridgetown,Barbados in a period of 18 months from August 1924 to January 1926;all made their Test cricket debut against England in 1948. In the mid-1950s,Walcott was arguably the best batsman in the world. He was the manager of the West Indian squads which won the 1975 Cricket World Cup and the 1979 Cricket World Cup. In later life,he had an active career as a cricket administrator,and was the first non-English and non-white chairman of the International Cricket Council.
Carl Llewelyn Hooper is a former Guyanese cricketer who captained the West Indies in Tests and ODIs. An all-rounder,he was a right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler,who came to prominence in the late 1980s in a side that included such players as Gordon Greenidge,Desmond Haynes,Malcolm Marshall and Courtney Walsh and represented the West Indies over a 16-year international career.
Roger Andrew Harper is a Guyanese former cricketer turned coach,who played both Test and One Day International cricket for the West Indies cricket team. His international career lasted 13 years,from 1983 to 1996,and he was later described as a "fabulous" fielder.
Clyde Godfrey Butts was a Guyanese cricketer who batted right-handed and bowled off breaks. Later,he became a team selector. In a career spanning 14 seasons,he played 87 first class games,including seven Test matches for the West Indies between 1985 and 1988. He also served as the chairman of West Indies Cricket Board Selection Panel for a brief stint.

Demerara cricket team played first class cricket in the Jones Cup,later the Guystac Trophy,and came from the former British colony of Demerara,which is now a county of Guyana,formerly British Guiana. The other counties are Berbice and Essequibo.

Grenada has however played as a separate entity in matches which held Twenty20 status,but has not appeared in first-class or List A cricket. The team's coach,as of November 2013,is Ricky Williams. The team currently has two captains:Devon Smith,who captains the two-day team,and Andre Fletcher who captains the 20-over team.

Sherfane Eviston Rutherford is a Guyanese cricketer. He made his Twenty20 International debut for the West Indies against Bangladesh on 22 December 2018 and his One Day International debut in December 2023 against England.
The Guyana women's national cricket team is the women's representative cricket team of the country of Guyana. They compete in the Women's Super50 Cup and the Twenty20 Blaze.
The India cricket team toured the West Indies and the United States during July and August 2022 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODIs and the first T20I took place in Trinidad and Tobago,the next two T20Is were played in St. Kitts and Nevis,with the final two T20Is played in Lauderhill,Florida.
