Mark L. Zieman (born January 14,1945) was a Republican Iowa State Senator from Iowa. He was formerly part of the leadership of the Iowa Senate. He represented the largely rural 8th district,covering Allamakee,Winneshiek,Chickasaw and Howard counties in the northeastern corner of the state. He served in the Iowa Senate 2001–2009 and was a past co-chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee.
Prior to his election to state office,he worked with various local government,Republican,and community organizations. His father was the previous state senator from his district.
Zieman was re-elected in 2004 with 15,682 votes (55%),defeating Democratic opponent John Beard. [1] He was an unsuccessful candidate in the Iowa Senate elections,2008.
Mary Adelaide Lundby was a state Senator from the Iowa's 18th District. She served in the Iowa Senate from 1995 to 2009,serving as Minority Leader from 2006 to 2007 and as Co-Majority Leader in 2006. She also served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995,serving as Speaker pro Tempore from 1992 to 1994. Prior to her election to the Iowa House,Lundby had served as the co-chair of the Linn County Republican party,as a member of the Linn County Republican Central Committee,and as staff assistant to then-senator Roger Jepsen. She graduated from Upper Iowa University,majoring in Political Science and History.
Herman Charles Quirmbach is an American politician and academic. He is currently serving as a member of the Iowa Senate from the 23rd district. A Democrat,he has served in the Iowa Senate since 2003 and served on the Ames City Council from 1995 to 2003.

From 2013 to 2019,McKibben served as a member of the Iowa Board of Regents. In 2017,he considered running for the board presidency,as Bruce Rastetter decided to step down. Michael Richards was elected to succeed Rastetter as board president.
Petricia S. "Pat" Ward was an Iowa State Senator from the 30th District. A Republican,her service in the Iowa Senate began in 2004,when she won a special election to fill the vacancy left when Mary Kramer was appointed to be U.S. Ambassador to Barbados.
