Reception

A critic from The New Indian Express opined that "The director has painstakingly worked on the script in the earlier half and given it a fresh feel. However, he could have taken more effort in the second half and made it just as engaging". [9] A critic from Sify gave the film a verdict of "disappointing" and criticised the film. [10] A critic from Behindwoods gave the film a half out of five stars and wrote that "Technically, there is not much that deserves mention except for the effort of the crew to make the action sequences." [11]

FEFSI Vijayan simply known as Vijayan is an Indian action choreographer, stunt coordinator, actor who works in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi language films. He has the record of being the youngest stunt master in the Indian film industry at the age of 22. He became a stunt man at the age of 17 due to family situation. He is the son of stunt choreographer Swaminathan who is known for composing Lion fight done by MGR in Adimai Penn. Swaminathan was a prominent fight master for MGR films & for that Vijayan had very close relationship with MGR. He was the president of the FEFSI and thus, earning him the nickname FEFSI Vijayan. His son, Shabarish is an actor who has starred in few films. During his heyday, he was widely touted as one of the best stunt coordinators of Bollywood and South Indian film industry.

A remake of the 2009 Telugu film Kick, it stars Raja's brother Jayam Ravi along with Tamannaah, and Shaam, who reprises his role from Kick, and a supporting cast including Prabhu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Sanchita Shetty. The film features a soundtrack composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, whilst S. Thaman's original score has been reused. The film, produced by Raja's father Editor Mohan and to be distributed by Sun Pictures, released on 23 July 2010.

Vaanam (transl. Sky) is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Krish. It is the remake of his own Telugu film Vedam (2010) starring Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and Anushka Shetty. It features an ensemble cast of Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj, Saranya Ponvannan, Sonia Agarwal, and Santhanam. Kalakalappu (transl. Humour) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Sundar C. and produced by his wife Khushbu. It stars Vimal, Shiva, Oviya, Anjali and Santhanam, with music composed by Vijay Ebenezer. It was originally titled Masala Cafe, but was later renamed to Kalakalappu. The film released on 11 May 2012 to mixed to positive reviews, and became a commercial success. The film is 25th directorial venture for Sundar C. The film was remade in Telugu as Jump Jilani starring Allari Naresh. In 2018, the film later went into the spiritual successor Kalakalappu 2. The movie is loosely based on the 2009 German Comedy film Soul Kitchen.

The film stars Vijay and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles, while Srihari, Salim Ghouse, Sayaji Shinde and Ravi Shankar appear in supporting roles. Gopinath handled the cinematography while V. T. Vijayan was the film's editor. This was Vijay's first film with AVM Productions and the only film B. Babusivan ever directed.
