Markus Marquardt (born 1970) is a German bass-baritone. [1]
Born in Düsseldorf, Marquardt studied singing with Werner Lechte at the Robert Schumann Hochschule. He appeared in Wagner's Parsifal , conducted by Simon Rattle, in Amsterdam and in Elektra with Lorin Maazel at the Salzburg Festival. From 1996 to 2000, Marquardt worked at the Stuttgart State Opera, including Papageno in Mozart's The Magic Flute and the title roles in The Marriage of Figaro [2] and Verdi's Rigoletto .
Since 2000, he has been a member of the Semperoper in Dresden. He also appeared as a guest at the Hamburg State Opera, the Bregenz Festival, the Bavarian State Opera, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Bremen Theater and Teatro alla Scala. [1]
He won first prize in the national competition Jugend musiziert in 1993 and the Christel-Goltz Prize in 2004. [3] In 2006, he appeared in the recorded final concert of the Rheingau Musik Festival in Mozart's Great Mass in C minor . The version of Robert D. Levin was performed by the Gächinger Kantorei, Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, conducted by Helmuth Rilling, the other soloists being Diana Damrau, Juliane Banse and Lothar Odinius. [4]
Aribert Reimann was a German composer, pianist, and accompanist, known especially for his literary operas. His version of Shakespeare's King Lear, the opera Lear, was written at the suggestion of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, who performed the title role. His opera Medea after Grillparzer's play premiered in 2010 at the Vienna State Opera. He was a professor of contemporary Lied in Hamburg and Berlin. In 2011, he was awarded the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for his life's work.
The Rheingau Musik Festival (RMF) is an international summer music festival in Germany, founded in 1987. It is mostly for classical music, but includes other genres. Concerts take place at culturally important locations, such as Eberbach Abbey and Schloss Johannisberg, in the wine-growing Rheingau region between Wiesbaden and Lorch.

He created roles in world premiered of operas, in Josef Tal's Die Versuchung at the Bavarian State Opera in 1976, in Hermann Reutter's Hamlet in Stuttgart in 1980, in Henze's Die englische Katze at the Schwetzingen Festival in 1983 and K. in Aribert Reimann's Das Schloß at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 1992.
Christiane Karg is a German operatic soprano. The award-winning singer became known for performing Mozart roles at the Salzburg Festival, and made an international career.
Eytan Pessen is a pianist and voice teacher, currently at the Opera houses of Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Vienna (Volksoper), Zürich and international festivals. He was former opera director of the Semperoper in Dresden, artistic advisor to Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and former casting director of the Staatstheater Stuttgart.

He has worked at leading European opera houses, including the Oper Frankfurt where he began as répétiteur in 1996, was Kapellmeister from 2002 to 2008, and has often appeared as a guest. He was artistic director of the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in Montepulciano from 2015 to 2020.
