The Faroe Islands Premier League is the top level of football in the Faroe Islands. It was founded in 1942 as Meistaradeildin, and it is played in current format since 2005, when Premier League replaced 1. deild as the country's top football division. The league is organised by the Faroe Islands Football Association.
EB/Streymur is a Faroese semi-professional football club based in Streymnes and Eiði. The club was founded in 1993, as result of the merger between EB and Streymur. They have won the Faroe Islands Premier League twice and the Faroe Islands Cup four times.
Víkingur is a semi-professional football club in the Faroe Islands. The club was founded in 2008 after the merger of GÍ Gøta and Leirvík ÍF. The club is based in Leirvík, while the stadium is in Norðragøta. Both villages are part of the same municipality Eysturkommuna, located on the island of Eysturoy and about 5 kilometers away from each other. The club won the Faroese championship for the first time in the 2016 season. In the 2017 season, Vikingur won the championship again.
Arnbjørn Theodor Hansen is a Faroese football striker who plays for EB/Streymur in the Faroe Islands Premier League. He has also played for the Faroe Islands national team from 2006 to 2014. As of 20 November 2020 he has played 288 matches and scored 155 goals in the Faroe Islands Premier League

Fróði Benjaminsen is a Faroese international footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Skála ÍF. Benjaminsen previously played for HB Tórshavn, B68 Toftir, Fram Reykjavík and B36 Tórshavn. He has appeared a record number of times for the Faroe Islands, and captained the national team since 2008. In 2015, he retired from the national team, but continued to play for HB Tórshavn in 2016. On 16 August 2016, Benjaminsen came out of international retirement, and was included in the Faroe Islands squad against Hungary in the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification.

Bjarni Johansen is a Faroese politician and former goal keeper. He is the current mayor of Vágur Municipality, elected for the Social Democratic Party in November 2020 to the Municipality and became mayor from 1 January 2021. He is former chairman for the Faroese football association FC Suðuroy.
