Glendale is a city in the Verdugo Mountains region of Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 191,719, and in 2019 the population was estimated at 204,765, making it the fourth-largest city in Los Angeles County and the 23rd-largest city in California. It is located about 10 miles (16 km) north of downtown Los Angeles.

Leticia R. San Miguel Van de Putte (born 6 December 1954) is an American politician from San Antonio, Texas. She represented the 26th District in the Texas Senate from 1999–2015. From 1991 to 1999, Van de Putte was a member of the Texas House of Representatives. In 2014, she was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor but lost the general election, 58-38 percent, to her Republican senatorial colleague, Dan Patrick of Houston. Following that defeat, she then resigned from the Texas Senate to run for mayor of San Antonio, which she narrowly lost to Ivy Taylor, 52-48 percent.
South Fulton is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States, in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Martin Joseph Walsh is an American politician and former union official. He has been the 29th United States Secretary of Labor since March 23, 2021. A Democrat, he served as the 54th mayor of Boston from 2014 until 2021, when he resigned to take the role of Secretary of Labor under President Joe Biden. He was previously a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the Thirteenth Suffolk district from 1997 until 2014. Walsh was confirmed by the United States Senate for the position of Secretary of Labor by a 68–29 vote on March 22, 2021, becoming the final member of Biden's Cabinet to be confirmed.
California Senate Bill 50 was a proposed California bill that would have preempted local government control of land zoning near public transit stations and jobs centers. The bill would have also required, at minimum, four-plex residential zoning statewide. The bill was the successor to a similar bill introduced by state senator Scott Wiener in January 2018 as Senate Bill 827 ; both would have applied to areas within one-half-mile (0.8 km) of frequent transit corridors, including rail stations and bus routes. The bills were sponsored by California YIMBY, a pro-housing lobbying group while they were opposed by local governments, anti-gentrification activists, and suburban homeowners. The bills were written in response to an ongoing housing affordability crisis in California's largest urban areas.
