Mary Estill Buchanan (born November 15,1934) is an American politician who served as the Secretary of State of Colorado from 1974 to 1983. [1] [2] She was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 1980,but was narrowly defeated by incumbent Gary Hart.

Verona Burkhard (1910–2004) was an American artist,known for her murals painted for the U.S. Treasury Department. She participated in four public projects including three United States post office murals and five murals completed for the Immigration and Naturalization Service. She has works in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Western Colorado Center for the Arts. As of 2015,her murals completed for the post offices of Powell,Wyoming;Deer Lodge,Montana;and Kings Mountain,North Carolina are still hanging in the buildings which were the original post offices. In addition to her public artworks,Burkhard received the 1943 Alger Award from the National Association of Women Artists and was one of the first honorees of the "Colorado Women of Achievement" program in 1966.
Genevieve Fiore (1912–2002) was an American women's rights and peace activist,who was the founder,and served as the executive director,of the Colorado Division of United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Her UNESCO Club was founded in the year the clubs were first conceived and was the third organization established in the world. In 1967 she was honored as one of the inductees for the Colorado Women of Achievement Award. She was knighted by Italy in 1975 receiving the rank of Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia. In 1991,she was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame for her many years of peace activism and work with women's rights issues.

After graduating from the Institute of American Indian Arts and Northeastern Oklahoma State University,she became an art teacher,first working in the public schools of Dewey,Oklahoma. When Josephine Wapp retired as the textile instructor at the Institute of American Indian Arts,Wilson was hired to teach the design courses. After three years,in 1979,she returned to Oklahoma and taught at Chilocco Indian School until it closed and then worked in the Morris Public School system until her retirement in 2009.
