Mary Holland (born June 24, 1985) [2] is an American actress, comedian, and writer.

Early life and education

Holland was born and raised in Galax, Virginia. [3] She attended Interlochen Center for the Arts and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University.[ citation needed ]

Career

After graduating from college, she began performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. [4] She is a cast member of UCB's flagship show Asssscat. [5]

Holland is a member of the comedy improv group Wild Horses, along with Lauren Lapkus, Erin Whitehead, and Stephanie Allynne. [6] [7] [8] In 2022, she made several surprise appearances across the U.S. with the "Ben Schwartz and Friends" [9] long-form improv show.

In 2015, Holland was cast in the Starz series Blunt Talk , [10] playing Shelly Tinkle until the series' cancellation after two seasons. In 2016, she was cast in a recurring role on the HBO series Veep and in the film Unicorn Store . [11] On February 28, 2017, Holland was cast in the ABC comedy pilot Household Name alongside Carol Burnett. [12]

On July 26, 2020, Holland participated in the Sequester: Undercover Mini in which she played as the Lemon. All donations for Holland's participation went to the Black Trans Travel Fund. Also in 2020, she guest starred in the final episode of season ten of Curb Your Enthusiasm . In 2022 she portrayed principal Martha Reiser in Senior Year, a comedy movie produced by Rebel Wilson. The movie received generally negative reviews but Holland's performance was praised.

Jessica McKenna is an American actress, comedian and singer. McKenna trained with The Groundlings and at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where she regularly performs. McKenna was one of the stars of Fox's Party Over Here, alongside Nicole Byer and Alison Rich, and hosted the podcast Off Book: The Improvised Musical until 2023.

The Earliest Show is an American comedy web series starring Ben Schwartz and Lauren Lapkus. Produced by Funny or Die, the series was sponsored by Cap'n Crunch cereal as a form of branded content. It follows morning show co-hosts Josh Bath and Sam Newman who must deal with the aftermath of Josh's failed on-air wedding proposal. The show is largely improvised. The Earliest Show premiered on October 27, 2016 and consisted of six episodes.
