The Mary Star of the Sea Church [1] is a religious building belonging to the Catholic Church [2] and is located in East Sunrise Highway [3] in the city of Freeport the second largest in the Bahamas.
Follow the Roman or Latin rite and depends on the Catholic Archdiocese of Nassau (Archidioecesis Nassaviensis) [4] based in the capital, Nassau, all religious services are conducted in English. This is one of 5 of Catholic churches located on Grand Bahama Island [5] in the northern part of the Bahamas, the others being the Haitian Mission, the Church of St. Agnes, Church of St. Michael and Church of St. Vincent de Paul.

Freeport Hebrew Congregation is the only synagogue in The Bahamas. The synagogue is named after Luis de Torres, identified by Meyer Kayserling's book Christopher Columbus and the participation of the Jews in the Spanish and Portuguese discoveries (1894) as a Marrano who sailed with Christopher Columbus at the beginning of the European colonization of the Americas. It is situated on East Sunrise Highway, between the Lutheran Church and the Roman Catholic "Mary Star of the Sea."

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint Joseph at Irkutsk. It is located at 11 Griboyedov St. in Irkutsk, in the region of Siberia in Russia. It is known for its organ concerts. In 1820 a Roman Catholic parish was founded in Irkutsk, which was then a growing city. Most parishioners were Poles, Lithuanians, or Belarusians, but membership included representatives of many of the Russian Empire's ethnic groups. A wooden church was later dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, but burned down during the Great Fire of Irkutsk in 1879. A new Gothic church was consecrated in 1886. The parish was suppressed in Soviet times, during which the priests were arrested and sent to the camps.
