"Other Side of the World" is a song by Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall and is the opening track on her debut album, Eye to the Telescope. The song is about the problems of long-distance relationships and how they seldom work out. It is based on a true story of two friends Tunstall had who were a couple but one lived in Scotland and the other in the United States.
"He Was Really Sayin' Somethin' is a soul song written by Motown songwriters Norman Whitfield, William "Mickey" Stevenson, and Edward Holland, Jr. in 1964. The song is notable in both a 1964 version by American Motown girl group the Velvelettes, and a 1982 hit version by British girl group Bananarama.
"Welcome to the Black Parade" is a song from My Chemical Romance's third studio album, The Black Parade. It was released on September 12, 2006 as the album's lead single, with the studio version available on the band's Myspace on September 2, 2006. The music video for the single was recognized as MTV's "Greatest Music Video of the Century" in 2017. The cover art of the single is the only artwork where the band appears, with the exception of the cover art for "The Ghost of You", where they are shown as silhouettes. The song topped the UK Singles Chart, and reached number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"Leave Me Alone " is a song by Pink, and was the sixth single from her fourth album, I'm Not Dead (2006). It was released in 2007 as a physical CD single in Australia, and as a download-only EP in the UK with "Dear Mr. President". The EP features live versions of both songs. Certain European countries received a physical CD release of the single.
Cherry Ghost were an English music group which began in 2005, first as an alias for singer-songwriter Simon Aldred as a solo artist, before morphing into a full band. Their debut album, Thirst for Romance, was released in July 2007 and entered the UK Album Charts at No. 7. It was nominated for an Ivor Novello award as well as winning Aldred an Ivor Novello for best song "People Help the People". A second album, titled Beneath This Burning Shoreline, was released in July 2010 to positive critical acclaim. Aldred, under the moniker Out Cold, released a solo album titled Invasion of Love in September 2013, featuring a markedly synthpop sound. Cherry Ghost released their third and final album Herd Runners in May 2014; Aldred last performed with Cherry Ghost in 2016 on the Marc Riley Show on BBC Radio 6 Music.
"Don't Give It Up" is the first single from Sugababes member Siobhán Donaghy's second solo album, Ghosts. It was the first song to appear on her MySpace page, and was not originally intended as a single release. However, it was later confirmed for release as the album's lead single due to fan praise. Promotion for the single started in 2007, and the music video was added to YouTube on 25 January 2007. The single was released as a digital download on 9 April 2007 and released physically on 16 April 2007.
"So You Say" is the second and final single taken from Sugababe Siobhán Donaghy's second studio album, Ghosts. It was co-written by Siobhan and producer–programmer James Sanger. The song was written about Donaghy's first relationship and the breakdown of it. Adam, although not the name of her love, was chosen, due to its biblical references, and the fact that Adam is a common name, so people can relate to it. Donaghy has said the song is a way of almost feeling sorry for herself. The single was also the final release from Ghosts, as well as her final single with Parlophone.
Jimi Goodwin is the bassist, vocalist and guitarist for Doves. Before their incarnation as Doves, the three members were in a house music group, Sub Sub.
Thirst for Romance is the debut album by Cherry Ghost, released on 9 July 2007 in the UK. The album was made available on CD, digital download, and double vinyl LP. It was recorded at Ape Studios in Cheshire and Moolah Rouge Studios in Stockport. The first single, "Mathematics", was released on 9 April 2007; the second single "People Help the People" was released on 25 June 2007, just two weeks ahead of the album's release date; and the third single was "4 AM", released on 24 September 2007. "Roses" was an iTunes "single of the week" for the week that the album was released. Thirst for Romance was co-produced by Simon Aldred and Dan Austin. Thirst for Romance entered the UK Albums Chart at #7 upon its first week.
"People Help the People" is the second single taken from Cherry Ghost's début album, Thirst for Romance. It was made available to download on 11 June 2007, and followed two weeks later on CD and 7" vinyl. The band played the song live on Later... with Jools Holland on 24 November 2006. Jimi Goodwin of the band Doves plays drums on the single. "People Help the People" peaked the UK Singles Chart at #27. The song was also a hit in Italy.
"4 AM" is the jangly, alt-country-influenced third single taken from Cherry Ghost's top 10 debut album Thirst for Romance. Available on CD and 7" vinyl on September 24, 2007 as well as a digital download on October 8, 2007, the single follows the top 30 single "People Help the People" and debut single "Mathematics." The 7" vinyl single features an original demo of "Mary on the Mend," which bears little resemblance to the album version.
"Stormy Weather" is a single by Echo & the Bunnymen which was released on 5 September 2005 on the Cooking Vinyl label. It was the first single to be released from the 2005 album, Siberia. It reached number 55 on the UK Singles Chart.
"Is It Just Me?" is a single by British rock band The Darkness, taken as the second cut their second studio album, One Way Ticket to Hell... And Back. The single was released on 13 February 2006. The song was the band's fifth consecutive top ten hit in the UK, peaking at No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart. It also peaked at No. 39 in Australia. The music video for the song features a parody of the popular Flake girl advert, which was a popular advertisement for the chocolate bar. It also features psychedelic rock star, Arthur Brown, as the priest, who is marrying Justin Hawkins to himself.
"Heartbreak " is a song by English production duo the Freemasons and English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, released on 15 June 2009 in promotion of the Freemasons' second studio album, Shakedown 2, and as the lead single from Ellis-Bextor's fourth album, Make a Scene.

Beneath This Burning Shoreline is the second studio album by Cherry Ghost, released on 5 July 2010 via Heavenly Records. The band recorded the album themselves with Dan Austin, who co-produced their debut album Thirst for Romance. The album's opening track, "We Sleep on Stones", was offered as a free digital download on the band's website in May 2010. The album's twelfth track, "Diamond in the Grind", was posted on YouTube, set to a clip of Harold Lloyd's 1924 silent film Girl Shy, in February 2010.
"Cherry Wine" is a song by American rapper Nas, released in 2012 by Def Jam Recordings as the fourth single from his 2012 album Life Is Good. The single features vocals by singer Amy Winehouse and was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2013 Grammy Awards. It is the final single to feature vocals from Winehouse.
