Matt & Toby is a debut studio album by Matt & Toby, a side project of Matt Carter and Toby Morrell (both of Emery). The album was released on November 19, 2012 through Tooth & Nail Records.
On January 10, 2011 an official MySpace page for Carter and Morrell's duo-project named The Water and the Well was registered. [4] The page contains three songs: "Do Lord", "Take Me Oh Lord" and "Prodigal Sons & Daughters". The latter two songs later would be re-recorded for Matt & Toby's album. The page was last visited by the founder on January 19, 2011.
On March 5, 2012 an official Facebook page for the same project, but named Matt & Toby, appeared.
Specifically, We (Toby and I) have been wanting to do less aggressive music as well as the heavy stuff we do in Emery. Sometimes we do "acoustic emery" and everyone seems to really like it, so instead of shifting the direction, Emery will continue its sound. We are just ADDING a whole new band to satisfy what we want to do. Matt and Toby will be exploring all the territory of acoustic-electronic-vintage and modern stuff. We are using horns, piano, drums, synthesizers and what ever else we can come up with instead of distorted guitar and screaming. It will be adventurous and dramatic.

On July 13, 2012 the first song off the album, "Good Boys", was made available as a free download through the official Facebook page of the band. [5]
On October 17, 2012 a lyric video for "What Plays In My Head" was released through the band's official YouTube channel. [6]
On November 1, 2012, Altpress.com premiered the song "Life of the Party" [7] and on November 6, 2012 - a music video for it. [8]
On November 8, 2012, Absolutepunk.com premiered the song "Prodigal Sons and Daughters". [9]
In the support of the album the band toured a "Living Room Tour" from October 15 to November 9, 2012 and from January 26 to February 9, 2013. During the shows Matt & Toby played songs from the self-titled album as well as Emery songs and some covers in acoustic.

Yellowcard is an American rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997. The lineup currently consists of lead singer Ryan Key, lead guitarist Ryan Mendez, bassist Josh Portman and violinist Sean Mackin. Primarily a pop-punk group, their music is recognized for having a distinct sound in its genre, primarily due to the prominent use of a violin in their songs, and are best known for their singles "Ocean Avenue", "Only One", and "Lights and Sounds". Released in 2003, "Ocean Avenue" and its parent album of the same name are both certified double platinum in the US by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); "Only One" and the band's 2006 album Lights and Sounds have been certified gold. The band has released ten studio albums, with its most recent, Yellowcard, released on September 30, 2016. Following this release and supporting tour, the band broke up. The Weak's End is the debut studio album by American post-hardcore band Emery. The original release was released on January 15, 2004, with the re-issued version released on January 27, 2004. Most of the albums available are labeled the re-released version, in which the title of track 6 is changed. Although the two albums look different, the actual songs themselves are very similar.

City Lights was an American pop punk band from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2008. They released two EPs and two studio albums during their six-year tenure; the latest being The Way Things Should Be, released on December 10, 2013, via InVogue Records. The band signed to InVogue in May 2011. The band announced their dissolution on February 13, 2014. One year later on February 13, 2015, they released a third EP titled Acoustic EP 2. They announced that they had no intention of getting back together but if schedules permitted they would still take part in shows and put out music.
That's Outrageous! was an American post-hardcore band from Poughkeepsie, New York, formed in the winter of 2010. They were signed to Rise Records in March 2011, shortly after posting two self-produced demos on PureVolume. The band released two full-length albums before disbanding in 2013. Myka Relocate was an American metalcore band formed in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2007, later based in Houston, Texas. The band has released three studio albums, Self Portrait as a Frozen Father, Lies to Light the Way and The Young Souls in addition to taking part in four annual South by So What?! music festivals between 2012 and 2015 as well as the 2016 SO WHAT! Music Festival. The band is credited with being able to successfully combine electronic elements, guttural screaming and pop vocals.
