Matthew "Matt" Trouville (born 6 September 1986 in Darlinghurst, New South Wales) [1] is an Australian-American former rugby union player who played flanker for the Houston SaberCats in Major League Rugby (MLR) and also for the United States Eagles rugby team.

Trouville made his debut for the United States in 2014 and was part of the squad at the 2015 Rugby World Cup. [2] [3]

Trouville retired in 2019 to start as a Customer Success Consultant at Logic20/20. [4]

Ireland and United States first played each other at rugby union in 1994 with Ireland emerging victorious, 26–15 at their home ground, Lansdowne Road, in Dublin. The SaberCats organization was born from one of the founding amateur rugby clubs that pooled resources to emerge professionally, and were the first in MLR membership to build a rugby-specific stadium intended for MLR competition.
