Matthew Bell (born 27 August 2002) is a Jamaican footballer who plays for Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake.
Bell was born in Kingston, Jamaica. [1] He began playing youth soccer in Jamaica with Real Mona FC, later joining the Kingston Football Academy in 2020. [2]
In 2022, Bell began attending Marshall University, where he played with the men's soccer team. [3] On August 25, 2022, he scored his first goal in his collegiate debut in a 5-0 victory over the VCU Rams. [4] At the end of his first season, he was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and named to the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team. [5]
Ahead of the 2023, he was named to the All-Sun Belt Preseason Team and named to the Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List. [6] [7] On August 24, 2023, he scored a hat trick in a 4-0 victory over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. [8] In his second season, he was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week twice. [9] [10] He finished the season with a single-season school program record 12 assists and 10 goals for 32 points. [11] At the end of the season, he was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, as well as being named to the All-SBC First Team. [12] He was also named a First Team All-American and finished as a Mac Hermann semifinalist. [13] [14] He was also invited to participate in the MLS College Showcase. [15]
In 2021, Bell joined Valeo FC in the National Premier Soccer League. [2] [16]
At the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, Bell was selected in the first round (16th overall) by Real Salt Lake. [17] In February 2024, he signed a four-year contract with the club. [18] [19]

The Marshall Thundering Herd is the intercollegiate athletic collection of teams that collectively represent the Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Thundering Herd athletic teams compete in the Sun Belt Conference, which are members of the NCAA Division I. The school's official colors are kelly green and white. The Marshall Thundering Herd have won 3 NCAA national championships and one NAIA national championship.
The Marshall Thundering Herd men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. The Thundering Herd plays its home games at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex in Huntington and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Sun Belt Conference (SBC). Marshall fielded its first intercollegiate men's soccer team in 1979. The Herd are coached by Chris Grassie, who has a record of 67–32–18 and a national championship during his six previous seasons at Marshall.
Hoops Family Field at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex is a 1,256-capacity soccer-specific stadium in Huntington, West Virginia where it is the home of Marshall University's men's and women's soccer teams. It was built on the former site of the Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse, which was demolished in order to build the stadium. An inaugural double-header took place on August 23, 2013. The men's team held a scrimmage against Marshall alumni from past years resulting in a 2–0 victory. The women's team faced the Campbell University Fighting Camels and won 3–0.

The regular season began on September 18 and concluded on November 6, 2020. The season culminated with the Sun Belt Tournament which began on November 13 and concluded on November 15, 2020.

The 2022–23 Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball team represented Marshall University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Thundering Herd, led by ninth-year head coach Dan D'Antoni, played their home games at the Cam Henderson Center as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 24–8, 13–5 in Sun Belt play to finish in a tie for second place. They lost to Texas State in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt tournament. Despite finishing with 24 wins, they did not participate in a postseason tournament.
