Mattia Pellegrin (born 8 June 1989) [2] [3] is a former cross-country skier from Italy. He competed for Italy at the 2014 Winter Olympics in the cross country skiing events. He has been in a relationship with cross-country skier Lucia Scardoni since 2011: the couple have lived together in Predazzo since 2013. As of 2018, he had retired from competition and was working as a policeman. [4]

She was the dominant female biathlete from 1997 to 2002, when she retired, winning the Biathlon World Cup for six years straight. Malta sent a delegation to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from 9 to 25 February 2018, with one competitor, alpine skier Élise Pellegrin. It was the country's second Winter Olympic appearance, after the 2014 Winter Olympics. Pellegrin was designated as the flag bearer for both the parade of nations during the opening ceremony, and the closing ceremony. She was disqualified from the giant slalom, and finished 50th in the slalom.
