Mauricio Leonicio Soto (born 22 February 1986) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. [1]

Career

Soto began his career in senior football with hometown club Berazategui. [2] [3] He featured twenty-four times throughout the 2007–08 campaign in Primera D Metropolitana, netting four goals as they won promotion to Primera C Metropolitana. [4] One goal in thirteen games followed. [4] In 2009, Soto had loan spells away with Liniers and Deportivo Riestra. [5] [6] Four total goals arrived, prior to Soto returning to Berazategui. [2] Months later, fellow Primera D Metropolitana team San Martín signed Soto. [2] [7] Sixteen goals in seventy-nine fixtures came in three years. [4] Across 2013 and 2014, Soto had stints with Sacachispas and Juventud Unida. [1] [8]

Soto rejoined Deportivo Riestra on 30 June 2014, with the club now in Primera C Metropolitana. [1] They won promotion to Primera B Metropolitana in his first season, with the player netting goals against Deportivo Morón and Almagro in the succeeding campaign. [1] Overall, Soto participated in ninety-one matches at that level across 2015, 2016 and 2016–17. [1] [9] After they were promoted in the latter, Soto featured twenty-two times in the 2017–18 Primera B Nacional as they suffered relegation. [1]

Asociación de Fomento Deportivo Riestra Barrio Colón, also known as Deportivo Riestra, is an Argentine sports club from Buenos Aires. The 2022 Argentine Primera Nacional, also known as the Campeonato de Primera Nacional Torneo Malvinas Argentinas 2022, was the 38th season of the Primera Nacional, the second tier competition of Argentine football. The season began on 11 February and ended on 19 November 2022. Thirty-seven teams competed in the league, thirty-three returning from the 2021 season, two teams promoted from Torneo Federal A and two from Primera B Metropolitana.
