Max Cleworth (born 9 August 2002) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for EFL League Two club Wrexham.
Cleworth started his career with Wrexham. [2] He signed his first professional contract at Wrexham in 2020. [3] In 2021, he signed for Welsh team Caernarfon Town on a six-month loan. [4] In December 2022 he signed a new deal for Wrexham until 2025. [5]
Cleworth's first league goal was a late winner in a 2–1 win against Colchester United on April 6th 2024. [6]

The 2023–24 season is the 159th season in the existence of Wrexham A.F.C. They are competing in League Two, in their first season back in the English Football League since the 2007–08 season. Wrexham is one of five Welsh clubs in the English football league system. In addition to the league, they competed in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. By virtue of a 6–0 win over Forest Green Rovers on 13 April and subsequent losses by MK Dons and Barrow, Wrexham clinched its second straight promotion and will compete in League One in 2024–25.
