Dhaka, formerly known as Dacca, is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is the ninth-largest and seventh-most densely populated city in the world with a density of 23,234 people per square kilometer within a total area of approximately 300 square kilometers. Dhaka is a megacity, and has a population of 10.2 million residents as of 2024, and a population of over 23.9 million residents in Dhaka Metropolitan Area. It is widely considered to be the most densely populated built-up urban area in the world. Dhaka is the most important cultural, economic, and scientific hub of Eastern South Asia, as well as a major Muslim-majority city. Dhaka ranks third in South Asia and 39th in the world in terms of GDP. Lying on the Ganges Delta, it is bounded by the Buriganga, Turag, Dhaleshwari and Shitalakshya rivers. Dhaka is also the largest Bengali-speaking city in the world.
Runa Laila is a Bangladeshi playback singer and composer. She started her career in the Pakistani film industry in the late 1960s. Her style of singing is inspired by Pakistani playback singer Ahmed Rushdi and also frequently joined him for singing duets, after replacing another singer Mala. Her playback singing in films – The Rain (1976), Jadur Banshi (1977), Accident (1989), Ontore Ontore (1994), Devdas (2013) and Priya Tumi Shukhi Hou (2014) - earned her seven Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Female Playback Singer. She won the Best Music Composer award for the film Ekti Cinemar Golpo (2018).
Ayub Bachchu was a Bangladeshi rock guitarist, composer, singer and songwriter, who was the founder of the Bangladeshi rock band Love Runs Blind and earned success as the lead singer and the lead guitarist of the band. He is considered as one of the greatest singers of all time in Bangladesh and a pop culture icon. He was one of the pioneers of Bangladeshi pop music.
Shayan Chowdhury Arnob is a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, musician, painter, filmmaker, animator and producer. Arnob was the founding member of the indie folk band Bangla which later went hiatus for internal reasons. Arnob continued performing with some of the band members as Arnob and Friends.

Fossils (ফসিল্স) is an Indian hard rock band from Bengal formed in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in 1998. The group is considered one of the pioneering rock acts in Kolkata's Bengali music scene. The band currently comprises Rupam Islam, Deep Ghosh, Allan Temjen Ao, Tanmoy Das (drums), Prasenjit 'Pom' Chakraborty.

As of 2014, she has acted in a total of 35 films, including Pitar Ason, Rickshawalar Prem, Praner Shami, and Porichoi.
Nusrat Imrose Tisha, known mononymously as Tisha, is a Bangladeshi actress, model and producer who has appeared mainly in Bengali television and films. She has garnered popularity with her performances both on television and the silver screen.
Nashid Kamal is a Bangladeshi vocalist, writer and professor of demography. She is the eldest granddaughter of Bengali folk singer Abbasuddin Ahmed. Kamal is widely regarded as a Nazrul exponent. For her contributions to Nazrul's works, she has received awards including the Nazrul Award from the Nazrul Academy in 2009 and Nazrul Padak from the Nazrul Institute in 2014.
Shikari is a 2016 Indian-Bangladeshi joint venture action thriller film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and Zakir Hossain Simanto. It was produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies banners. It stars Shakib Khan, Srabanti Chatterjee, Rahul Dev and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty in pivotal roles and centers around Khan, a disguised professional assassin with a mysterious past, tasked with assassinating a top government official. The film also features Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Shupriyo Dutta in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film have been composed by Indraadip Dasgupta.
Sahana Bajpaie is an Indian singer-songwriter and a contemporary Rabindra Sangeet vocalist in Bengali. Born in Siliguri and brought up in Santiniketan, Sahana started singing by the age of three. She released her debut album Notun Kore Pabo Bole in 2007 from Dhaka, Bangladesh, which was a collection of Rabindra Sangeet. Her second album Shikawr released in 2014 with several musicians from West Bengal. Sahana's second Rabindra Sangeet album Ja Bolo Tai Bolo was released in 2015 and the latest solo album, Mon Bandhibi Kemone in 2016.
Priyanka Gope is a Bangladeshi singer. She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in the film Anil Bagchir Ekdin (2015). It was her debut as a playback singer.
Farida Zaman is a Bangladeshi artist and illustrator. She is the chairman and professor of the department of Drawing and Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. In recognition of her contribution in art, the government of Bangladesh awarded her the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2020.
Wari Club is an association football club from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It currently competes in the Bangladesh Championship League (BCL). Wari Club is the oldest football club in Bangladesh, established in 1898. The club's motto is One heart one mind.
