Melankton is the debut album by Norwegian singer, Kate Havnevik, featuring the single "Unlike Me," and the song "Nowhere Warm" as featured on the TV show Grey's Anatomy . The album was released in her home country of Norway on April 10, 2006, before being issued in the UK, accompanied by a bonus track, entitled "Travel In Time," which was written and produced with Carmen Rizzo (and featured in an episode of TV show The O.C. in 2005). Rizzo also helped mix some tracks and master the record.

The album premiered online on Havnevik's official website for 48 hours from 11 March-12 March 2006, and was added to Apple Computer's iTunes music store on 27 March 2006. Melankton was mixed and mastered in Los Angeles, having been recorded in London, Bratislava, Oslo, Reykjavík and Los Angeles. The strings were recorded first in Bratislava and Oslo, and the vocals were recorded last in Havnevik's London flat. In addition, the album also features production from Frou Frou member, Guy Sigsworth, who contributes tracks including "Unlike Me," "Not Fair" and "You Again." Sean McGhee mixed the majority of the album as well as co writing a number of songs.

Melankton is named after a character in a Norwegian book called Oppdageren by Jan Kjærstad, and means "black rose."

The album was released through Havnevik's own record label, Continentica Records, and licensed in the USA by Universal Music.

Imogen Heap English singer-songwriter

Imogen Jennifer Heap is an English singer-songwriter, record producer, and audio engineer. Born in the London Borough of Havering, Heap became classically trained in piano, cello, and clarinet at a young age. She began writing songs at the age of 13 and, while attending boarding school, taught herself both guitar and drums, as well as music production on Atari computers. Heap signed to independent record label Almo Sounds at the age of 18 and later began working with experimental pop band Acacia alongside Guy Sigsworth as a frequent guest vocalist.

Guy Sigsworth is a British record producer and songwriter. During his career he has worked with many artists, including Seal, Björk, Goldie, Madonna, Britney Spears, Kate Havnevik, Imogen Heap, Bebel Gilberto, Mozez, David Sylvian, Alanis Morissette, Eric Whitacre, Alison Moyet and AURORA. He has also collaborated with many celebrated instrumental musicians, including Talvin Singh, Jon Hassell and Lester Bowie. He was previously a member of the band Frou Frou together with Imogen Heap.

Geneva are a Scottish rock band formed in Aberdeen in 1992. The group enjoyed moderate chart success but split after the release of their second album. They reformed in 2018, minus guitarist Stuart Evans, in preparation for a live tour in 2019.

Kate Havnevik Norwegian singer-songwriter

Kate Havnevik is a Norwegian film composer, songwriter and singer. Her debut album, the critically acclaimed electronica-infused Melankton, was released in March 2006 on iTunes and April 2006 in Norway only, before being licensed internationally to Universal Republic USA later. Havnevik has successfully utilized PledgeMusic campaigns to fund some of her albums, including You, released October 2011, and &i, released March 2015. Her music has been prominently featured in TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, The O.C., and The West Wing.

Formed in 2005, Techno Squirrels is a band made up of Ryan Harlin and Lisa Eriksson. Both Eriksson and Harlin are sound engineers and producers for Techno Squirrels. Their music has been used in MTV's The Real World (Sydney), The Real World (Hollywood), The Real World vs. Road Rules Challenge, Regenesis, and on LucasArts' Thrillville 2 soundtrack.

From Out of Nowhere (song) 1989 single by Faith No More

"From Out of Nowhere" was the first track off Faith No More's third studio album The Real Thing. It was also the first single to be released off it and to feature Mike Patton on vocals. It was first released on October 30, 1989 but didn't reach the UK singles chart. It was re-released on April 2, 1990, after the success of "Epic" and it reached #23 on the UK singles chart. However, it never became as popular as "Epic", which peaked at #25 in the same charts, despite the former song peaking higher.
