Mele Bay is a bay on the southwestern coast of Efate, Vanuatu. It is the main bay which leads into the smaller Vila Bay when approaching the capital of Port Vila by sea. Ifira Island lies towards Vila Bay, and is passed when approaching the town. The bay has no reef. To the south, the bay "tapers off to form Pango Point", and to the east is the Erakau lagoon. [1]

Korman Stadium

Korman Stadium is a sports stadium located in Port Vila, Vanuatu. It is the national stadium and the home of the Vanuatu national football team. The stadium's capacity is 6,500. Korman stadium was named for one of Vanuatu's politicians, the head of the Vanuatu Republican Party, Maxime Carlot Korman. Amical FC are tenants of the stadium.

Shefa is one of the six provinces of Vanuatu, located in the center of the country and including the islands of Epi and Efate and the Shepherd Islands.

The Scout Association Vanuatu Branch is a branch of The Scout Association of the United Kingdom operating in the Republic of Vanuatu since 1999. The Scout Association Vanuatu Branch is an incorporated non-government organisation. As a branch of The Scout Association, the Vanuatu Branch is recognised by but not an independent member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Currently there are four active Scout groups in Vanuatu, one in Santo and three in Port Vila, with over 200 youth participants.

Shepherd Islands

The Shepherd Islands are a group of islands lying between the larger islands of Epi and Éfaté, in the Shefa province of Vanuatu. The aggregate land area is 88 square kilometres. They were named by Captain Cook after Anthony Shepherd, a British astronomer and friend of Cook.

Erromango

Erromango is the fourth largest island in the Vanuatu archipelago. With a land area of 891.9 square kilometres (344.4 sq mi) it is the largest island in Tafea Province, the southernmost of Vanuatu's six administrative regions.

Cyclone Ivy

Severe Tropical Cyclone Ivy was a tropical cyclone that affected about 25% of the population of Vanuatu in February 2004. It was first classified as a tropical disturbance on February 21 between Vanuatu and Fiji. The system tracked northwestward, gradually organizing and intensifying. After attaining tropical storm status on February 23, Ivy strengthened more quickly as it turned southwestward toward Vanuatu. It attained peak winds of 165 km/h (105 mph) while moving over Vanuatu, making it an intense Category 4 cyclone on the Australian Region Tropical Cyclone Intensity Scale. By the time it passed through Vanuatu, Ivy had turned southeastward, and it gradually weakened while accelerating. After becoming extratropical on February 28, it passed just east of New Zealand and eventually dissipated on March 2.

Franceville, New Hebrides

Franceville was a municipality located on Efate, or Sandwich Island. It was established in 1889 in order to gain basic legal status, during the period when the New Hebrides was a neutral territory under the loose jurisdiction of a joint Anglo-French naval commission.

National Museum of Vanuatu

The National Museum of Vanuatu is located in the Vanuatu Cultural Centre in Port Vila, Vanuatu. It specializes in exhibits relating to the culture and history of this group of islands in the South Pacific.

Vanuatu Cultural Centre

The Vanuatu Cultural Centre, founded in 1955, is the national cultural institution of Vanuatu. It is located in the capital Port Vila.

The National Library is the national library of Vanuatu. Located within the Vanuatu Cultural Centre in Port Vila, it contains about 15,000 books and serves both as a national repository for "rare and special" material, and as a lending library. It was established in April 2004.

Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur, Port Vila

Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur is a modern Roman Catholic cathedral in Port Vila, Vanuatu. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port-Vila. The church is dedicated to the sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Lololima is a river of the main island (Efate) of Vanuatu. It passes near Port Vila, the capital, on the southwest side of the island. There is a waterfall of the same name, near the settlement of Lololima, which is a significant tourist attraction.

Malapoa College, originally British Secondary School (BSS), is an English-language secondary school in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Originally a school for dependents of employees of the pre-independence Vanuatu government and foreign expatriates, it opened in 1966.

Spain–Vanuatu relations

Spain–Vanuatu relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries. Vanuatu does not have embassy in Spain, but its embassy in Brussels is accredited to Spain. The Spanish Embassy in Canberra, Australia, is accredited in Vanuatu, as well as the Spanish consulate in Sydney. In addition, Spain has an Honorary Consulate in Port Vila.
