Memory Garden is a doom metal and heavy metal band from Kumla, Sweden. They were signed to Metal Blade Records until 2002, moved to Vic Records in 2006 and in 2012 returned to metal Blade to record Doomain (2013). [1]
The band was formed in December 1992, got signed by the small Swedish label Heathendoom Music, and released Forever EP (1995) and debut full-length Tides (1996), both recorded at Fredman Studios by producer Fredrik Norman. In 1996, joined by guitarist Simon Johansson (ex-Fifth Reason, Abstract Algebra) they were signed by Metal Blade Records and in 1998 released Verdict of Posterity, recorded at the XTC Studios with producer Mike Wead (King Diamond, Mercyful Fate and others). Following the Scandinavian tour and the appearance at the Wacken Open Air in summer of 1999, Memory Garden in February 2000 recorded Mirage (again with Wead) and supported the album by a host of European shows. Having left Metal Blade in 2002, they remained in touch with Wead who helped them record Carnage Carnival , released in 2008 through Vic Records. The release was followed by numerous festivals around Europe. [2]
In September 2007 bassist Ken Johansson had to quit because of lack of time. The band then found a replacement in young Johan Fredriksson. In late October 2008, shortly after the release of Carnage Carnival, longtime rhythm guitarist and main lyricist Anders Looström left the band because of "personal priorities." Ante Mäkelä was recruited to replace Looström.[ citation needed ]
In June 2011 Memory Garden started working upon their fifth album in their Kumla studio. Mixed by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studios, Doomain was released in 2013 via Metal Blade Records, to generally positive reviews. [3] [4]
In 2021 Memory Garden released their sixth full length album "1349", a concept album about "black death" the bubonic plague pandemic of 1349. The album was released by Greek Record label No Remorse Records.
The band is said to have taken their name from the Trouble song "Memory's Garden".[ citation needed ]
Six Feet Under is an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1993. The band consists of five members: founding vocalist Chris Barnes, guitarists Ray Suhy and Jack Owen, bassist Jeff Hughell and drummer Marco Pitruzzella. It was originally a side project formed by Barnes with guitarist Allen West of Obituary, but became a full-time commitment after Barnes was dismissed from Cannibal Corpse in 1995. Six Feet Under has released 13 albums, and is listed by Nielsen Soundscan as the fourth-best-selling death metal act in the U.S.

Tourniquet was an American Christian metal band that formed in Los Angeles in 1990. It was founded by Ted Kirkpatrick, Guy Ritter, and Gary Lenaire. Tourniquet primarily played a mixture of thrash and progressive metal and was influenced by additional, non-rock forms of music such as classical and world music. The band earned six GMA Dove Award nominations and won multiple recognitions from the readers of HM Magazine, including "Favorite Band of the 1990s" and "Favorite Album of the 1990s" for Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance (1992). They released ten studio albums, two live albums, four compilation albums, one EP, and several video releases. The last Tourniquet lineup consisted of Ted Kirkpatrick (drums) and Aaron Guerra. The band disbanded after Kirkpatrick's death in 2022.
Nightfall is the second studio album by the Swedish doom metal band Candlemass, released on 9 November 1987 through Axis Records. After being dropped from the label Black Dragon Records, Candlemass were the first band signed to Axis. The group had a new line-up from their previous album including vocalist Messiah Marcolin, whose decisions became instrumental during the production and release stages of the album.
Crimson II is the eighth and final full-length studio album by Swedish death metal band Edge of Sanity and is a continuation of the storyline first heard on the album Crimson (1996). It is the only Edge of Sanity release that does not feature original members Andreas Axelsson, Sami Nerberg, Anders Lindberg and Benny Larsson. Memento Mori was a Swedish band that is mainly doom metal but has some power metal influences. The band was founded by Messiah Marcolin, Snowy Shaw and Mike Wead in 1992 after Messiah left Candlemass and Wead took a break from his other band Hexenhaus. After two albums, however, Messiah left the band because he was not credited as a song writer; Snowy Shaw also quit the band to work with the reunited Mercyful Fate. The third album was sung by Kristian Andrén who used to sing for Swedish Power Doom Metal band Tad Morose. Messiah returned for the fourth album entitled "Songs for the Apocalypse VolIV" sadly without Snowy Shaw. Drum duties were taken over by fellow Swede and Memory Garden drummer Tom Bjorn.After that album, the band broke up. All albums were released by Black Mark.
