MenaJet Lebanon s.a.l. was a Lebanese charter airline based in Beirut, Lebanon. It operates services to Turkey, Egypt and around the Mediterranean. Its main bases were Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport and Sharjah International Airport. [1] In 2010, the airline ceased all operations. [2]

History

The airline was established in May 2003 and started operations on 13 August 2004. It is owned by Al Zamil Group (45%), Gulf Finance House (45%) and others (10%) and has 47 employees (at March 2007). [1]

The airline ceased operations in 2008. [3]

Destinations

MenaJet's schedule was constantly changing as they were a charter carrier. In the summer, they operated to a number of destinations for vacation package companies, namely Nakhal. Throughout the rest of the year, MenaJet's traffic mostly relied on wet-leases and non-scheduled charters. [ citation needed ] MenaJet offered flights to Berlin, Amsterdam, Egypt, and Turkey.

Hellas Jet was a charter airline based in Athens, Greece, operating services to Greece from destinations in Europe. Its main base was Athens International Airport. Hellas Jet was a licensed scheduled and charter carrier, holding a JAA AOC and a Line Maintenance Certificate under JAA/EASA Part 145, both approved by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. It ceased operations in 2010 due to economic difficulties. The repossession of two of their Airbus A320 aircraft, 87 and 88, was documented on Discovery channel TV programme Airplane Repo. AtlasGlobal, named Atlasjet until 31 March 2015, was a Turkish airline headquartered in Istanbul, which operated scheduled domestic and international passenger services as well as charter flights, mostly out of its base at Istanbul Airport. The airline filed for bankruptcy on February 12, 2020, and ceased operations permanently after that date.

Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport (Arabic: مطار رفيق الحريري الدولي بيروت, is the only operational commercial airport in Lebanon. It is located in the Southern Suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, 9 kilometres from the city center. The airport is the hub for Lebanon's national carrier, Middle East Airlines and was the hub for the Lebanese cargo carrier TMA cargo and Wings of Lebanon before their respective collapses.

Borajet was a privately owned Turkish airline based in Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, Istanbul operating domestic and international services. It suspended operations on 24 April 2017.
