The Meralco Bolts 3x3 were a Philippine 3x3 basketball team which competed in the PBA 3x3, organized by the Philippines' top-flight professional league, Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The team is affiliated with the Meralco Bolts, a member franchise of the PBA.
The Meralco Bolts, competing as Meralco Bolts 3x3, are among the participating PBA franchise teams in the inaugural 2021 PBA 3x3 season. [1]
Meralco would clinch its first ever title by winning the grand finals of the third conference of the 2023–24 PBA 3x3 season breaking the title streak of TNT Triple Giga which has won the previous six conferences. [2] [3]
Following the shelving of the PBA 3x3 after the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, the team would be disbanded. [4]
Its players and staff would become part of the Philippine national under-23 3x3 team which played in the 2024 3x3 FIBA Nations League. [5]
Vincent "Chot" P. Reyes is a Filipino basketball coach who is the head coach for the TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He also served as the head coach for the Philippine national basketball team, where he led the team to a historic silver medal finish at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship and its subsequent appearance at the 2014 FIBA World Cup; the country's first in 36 years. He also coached the team in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
The Meralco Bolts is a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. The team began in 2010 after the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) acquired the PBA franchise of the Sta. Lucia Realtors. The team is one of three PBA teams presently under the control of businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan – the other teams being the TNT Tropang Giga and the NLEX Road Warriors.
