Meril Beilmann (born 12 June 1995) is a former Estonian biathlete. She was born in Tallinn. She has competed in the Biathlon World Cup, and represented Estonia at the Biathlon World Championships 2016. [1]

Kadri Lehtla is an Estonian former biathlete. She made her debut 2006 in the IBU Cup with a 36th Place in a sprint in Forni Avoltri. Her best result in the IBU Cup was a 4th place in Östersund in the beginning of the 2011/12 IBU Cup season. She had her debut in the 2008–09 Biathlon World Cup with a 97th place in an Individual in Östersund.

Kaija Parve-Helinurm is a former and so far most successful Estonian biathlete. She used to be a cross-country skier, but after hearing that there was a possibility to participate in World Championships, Parve switched to biathlon. After spending 7 years with Soviet biathlon team, she retired in 1990 due to pregnancy and getting married. In 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, women's biathlon was held for the first time. The contestants, who won medals, had been beaten by Kaija with several minutes just few years earlier.

The 2015–16 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season began on 29 November 2015 in Östersund, Sweden, and ended on 19 March 2016 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The defending overall champions from the 2014–15 Biathlon World Cup were Martin Fourcade of France and Darya Domracheva of Belarus, but Domracheva missed the season due to illness.

The 2015–16 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 1 was the opening event of the season and was held in Östersund, Sweden, from 29 November until 6 December 2015.
