Metapolis is a complex of four residential skyscrapers in Hwaseong, South Korea [1] With the ground broken in July 2006 by POSCO E&C [2] and the buildings topped-out in August 2009, the structures were completed in July 2010. [3] The two tallest towers (#101 and #104) have heights of 249m and 247m respectively and 66 storeys each, [4] making them the third-tallest residential skyscrapers in South Korea and the centerpiece of the New Dongtan City. The two shorter skyscrapers are 60 (#102) and 55 (#103) floors in height, measuring 224m and 203m respectively. [5]
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) is an international body in the field of tall buildings and sustainable urban design. A non-profit organization based at the Monroe Building in Chicago, Illinois, United States, the CTBUH announces the title of "The World's Tallest Building" and is widely considered to be an authority on the official height of tall buildings. Its stated mission is to study and report "on all aspects of the planning, design, and construction of tall buildings." The CTBUH was founded at Lehigh University in 1969 by Lynn S. Beedle, where its office remained until October 2003 when it moved to the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is known for being the world's tallest building. Ponte City is a skyscraper in the Berea suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa, just next to Hillbrow. It was built in 1975 to a height of 173 m (567.6 ft), making it the tallest residential skyscraper in Africa. The 55-storey building is cylindrical, with an open centre allowing additional light into the apartments. The centre space is known as "the core" and rises above an uneven rock floor. When built, Ponte City was seen as an extremely desirable address due to its location and views over Johannesburg, but it became infamous for its crime and poor maintenance in the late 1980s to 1990s. It has since been refurbished into a safe property. The neon sign on top of the building is the largest sign in the Southern Hemisphere. It currently advertises the South African mobile phone company Vodacom. Prior to 2000, it advertised for The Coca-Cola Company.
The 102 Incheon Tower was a supertall twin tower proposed for construction in Songdo International City, Incheon, South Korea. The design consisted of two 151 floor, 613 m (2,011 ft) supertall skyscrapers connected by three skybridges. The building would have become the tallest twin towers in the world, surpassing the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and one of the tallest buildings in Asia. After the late-2000s recession, the tower was postponed with the possibility of a redesign at a lower height. The height of the tower was reduced from 613 metres to 487 metres while keeping the design the same.
Museum Tower is a 42-story, 173.43 m (569.0 ft) skyscraper in the arts district of Dallas, Texas. Completed in January 2013, the building is the tallest new structure to be built in the city in recent years, and is now the second-tallest all-residential building in Dallas, behind Gables Republic Tower.

With 80 floors and a height of 301 m, as of 2022, Tower A is the 22nd-tallest residential building in the world, and is the seventh tallest building in South Korea.
Bridgewater Heights is a skyscraper apartment building in Manchester, England, west of Oxford Street. It was designed by local architect Stephen Hodder in a clustered architectural form and was completed in September 2012. The skyscraper is situated adjacent to Oxford Road railway station, on the corner of Great Marlborough Street. The skyscraper is 37 storeys high at a height of 106 m (348 ft) and as of 2023 is the 16th-tallest building in Manchester.
