In January 2019 a deluxe edition of Mexican R'n'B was issued by Cherry Red Records. The three CD set encompasses all The Stairs' output during their time served with Go! Discs. The last disc features the music which would have been their second LP, hotly tipped at the time to be named Who Is This Is.

He has also played as a session musician for several artists including Ian McCulloch, Paul Weller, Saint Etienne and Ocean Colour Scene.

The matrix of Side A on the 7" vinyl single has Mexican R'N'B inscribed on it, while Side B has Goodbye Sister Disco inscribed. Both 12" vinyl single formats have Don't mess with the Tank inscribed in the matrix on Side A, and Dave Quicksilver and The Blues Messengers inscribed on Side B. The cover art photograph was taken by David Maguire, brother to band member Paul Maguire.

It traces King's career from his first singles for Bullet Records in 1949 to material on his last recorded album in 2008. Crowdfunded by Pledge Music in 2012, it was available in a full ten-disc box exclusive through Amazon.com, and a four-disc "highlights" box available everywhere else. People who pledged money also got a digital copy of the out-of-print 1975 album Lucille Talks Back. Both versions of the box are physically out of print; the four disc edition is bundled along with Lucille Talks Back digitally, although this version removes King's first single.
