Mia Riddle is an American indie-folk singer-songwriter born in Ventura, California. She and her eponymous six-piece band are based in Brooklyn, New York.[ citation needed ]

Current members include singer/songwriter/guitarist Mia Riddle, Dan Barry (guitar/vocals), James Rickman (bass/guitar), previous front man of ska band Slow Gherkin, David Wyss (bass/guitar), Amy Merrill (keyboard/vocals) and Jeffrey Neuberger (drums/vocals), previous member of Meowskers. The band describes their music as "equal parts desert expanse and outer-borough street lamp spirit," and their sound is influenced by bands like Fleetwood Mac, Wilco, PJ Harvey, MU330, and Neil Young.[ citation needed ]

Tours in the UK and US have included the Secret Garden Party (2007), [1] Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (2006, 2007) [2] and SXSW (2009). [3] [4] Mia and Dan were featured live on the Bob Harris Country radio program on BBC Radio 2 in June 2008.[ citation needed ] In June 2008 the band was named "Artist of the Month" by The Deli Magazine, and were ranked #20 in the Deli Magazine Best of NYC issue. Mia has performed with Rhett Miller and Norah Jones. The music video for the song "Open Wide" was featured in Mercedes-Benz' "Mixed Tape Music Magazine" v-log in March 2009. [6]

Fake Major is a Scottish pop music duo based in Glasgow consisting of the musicians Richard Ferguson and David McGinty, who featured as a back-up vocalist on Snow Patrol's 2006 album "Eyes Open". David McGinty and Richard Ferguson were originally part of the four-piece indie rock band Endor. Fake Major released their debut EP "Have Plenty of Fun" on 1 March 2013 and have played at several mainstream events and festivals such as T in the Park and the Tartan Heart Festival as well as many popular music venues over Scotland.

ALOKE is an American post-hardcore band that was formed by Christian Zucconi, Paul DeCourcey and Alex Charpentier in Ossining, New York, in 2004. During their career, the band released one live album and three EPs, before disbanding in the summer of 2009. Thereafter, Zucconi formed Grouplove, which gained popularity with ALOKE song, "Colors You Have". At one time, ALOKE was described as "shoveling out creepy, loud, grueling beauty" and "the fiercest, hardest working, loudest band in NYC".

The Shake is a New York City indie rock band. The band was active from 2005 - 2012. The band was originally formed by Jon Merkin, Eliad Shapiro, Jeremy Stein, and Andrew McNellis (drums). Following McNellis' departure in 2008, Vishal Kumar joined the band as their drummer. Kumar departed in 2009, and was replaced on drums by Daniel Kirschen. Shapiro departed in 2010 to attend Cornell Law School, and was replaced by Mike Serman on lead guitar. The group disbanded in 2012.
