"Mic Check" is the third single by British grindie band Hadouken!, released from their second studio album, For the Masses .
The song was originally going to contain a sample from Double 99's "RipGroove", however due to clearance issues, the sample was removed to prevent delays in the release of the album. When the sample was cleared for use, "Mic Check" was announced as a single. There are three versions of the song; the album version, the radio edit, which is exactly the same as the album version but with the sample reinstated, and a remix which contains the sample and is a heavier, dancier version of the song.
Following strong radio airplay throughout March and April 2010, "Mic Check" debuted on the UK Dance Chart at No. 14, before climbing to No. 13 the following week. Upon release, the single climbed a further 5 places to peak at No. 8.

It was released in the United Kingdom on October 8, 1999, and a different version released in the United States in 2000. A transition towards hip hop, it includes the singles "Godspeed", "Dreaming", and in the US, "Never Gonna Come Back Down". The original cover art is a photogram, Invocation, by Adam Fuss.
"One More Chance / Stay with Me (Remix)" is a song written and recorded by American rapper The Notorious B.I.G., featuring additional vocals sung by his wife Faith Evans and an uncredited appearance by Mary J. Blige. It was certified platinum by the RIAA on July 31, 1995 and sold 1.1 million copies.
"Pump Up the Volume" is the only single by British recording act M|A|R|R|S. "Benjamins" is a slang word for money, referring to Benjamin Franklin's image on the US $100 bill. The Notorious B.I.G. also used the slang on his debut album Ready to Die. The song featured an uncredited vocal arrangement by Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, and featured a signature guitar hook played by Marc Solomon.
"Check Yo Self" is the third and final single from American rapper Ice Cube's third solo album, The Predator. It was released on July 13, 1993, and features New York City rappers Das EFX. It topped both the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts while also reaching number 20 on the Hot 100 chart. The song retains two main versions, the original and a remix which utilizes the same beat as Grandmaster Flash's "The Message", titled "Check Yo Self ". The original mix includes a sample from the intro of the Beastie Boys' track "The New Style", which uses the phrase "check it" throughout the chorus.

"Headlock" is a song by British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap, from her 2005 album Speak for Yourself. It was the third single from Speak for Yourself, following "Hide and Seek" and "Goodnight and Go". Remixed for radio as 'Immi's Radio mix' and accompanied by a new all-vocal B-side, entitled "Mic Check".
"4, 3, 2, 1" is a song by Queens rapper LL Cool J featuring Method Man of Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Canibus and DMX from LL Cool J's seventh album Phenomenon as the second single. It was released on December 9, 1997, for Def Jam Recordings and was produced by LL Cool J and Erick Sermon. The single featured an extended version not featured on the album featuring an additional verse from American southern hip hop artist Master P. Both the original song and the extended cut had accompanying music videos. The song peaked at number 75 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 10 on the Hot Rap Singles and number 24 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
"Don't Disturb This Groove" is a song by the synthpop/R&B duo The System, from the 1987 album of the same name. The song was written by The System's David Frank and Mic Murphy. It was released as the album's first single.
"Shine" is a song by American singer-songwriter Luther Vandross, the first single from his greatest hits package The Ultimate Luther Vandross. The track samples Chic's song "My Forbidden Lover". "Shine" became a top-20 urban radio hit, and the club mixes of the song became popular on dance radio stations and clubs in the United States. The single was a top-50 hit in the United Kingdom but failed to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100 despite reaching number 31 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. In 2007, British dance music duo Booty Luv released a cover version that reached the top 20 in several European countries.
"No Time" is a song by American rapper Lil' Kim. It was released as her debut single in 1996 which served as the first single from Kim's debut album Hard Core. It peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the Top 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. "No Time" topped the US Rap Songs for nine weeks, becoming Kim's first number 1 hit on that chart. Additionally, the song charted at number 45 on the UK Singles Chart. The single was certified Gold by the RIAA. "No Time" contains a sample of Vicki Anderson's "Message from the Soul Sisters" and Lyn Collins's "Take Me Just As I Am".
"Traffic" is a track single which appeared in the album Just Be and Parade of the Athletes by Dutch DJ Tiësto. The track contains samples of Sean Deason's track "Psykofuk". When the album Just Be was released, his third single "Love Comes Again" was featured with it, "Traffic" turned into a B-side after having great success in Tiësto's concerts and having a music video made which was released in its original form as well as its radio edit version. It is the first instrumental track to reach the top spot in his homeland of the Netherlands in 23 years. Many DJs did remixes for "Traffic". The track is recorded at 136 BPM.
"Hearts on Fire" is a song by Australian electronic music band Cut Copy, released in 2007 as the lead single from their second studio album, In Ghost Colours (2008). The song's chorus contains a small vocal sample from Jennifer Lopez's "Waiting for Tonight". A re-edited version of the song, produced by Tim Goldsworthy, was released on 5 July 2008 and served as the album version. Pitchfork Media named "Hearts on Fire" the seventh best track of 2008.
"In Your Shoes" is the second single release from British singer-songwriter Beverley Knight's sixth studio album, 100%, released on 9 November 2009. The radio edit was added to the BBC Radio 2 playlist on 14 October 2009 and peaked on the B-list.
"Mic Checka" is a song by American hip hop group Das EFX recorded for their debut album Dead Serious (1992). The song was released as the second single for the album in July 1992.
"Tonite" is a song by American rapper and producer DJ Quik, released as the second single from his debut studio album Quik Is the Name. The song contains samples from "Tonight" performed by Kleeer, "Tonight Is the Night" performed by Betty Wright and "Last Night Changed It All " performed by Esther Williams. Complex deemed it the 44th best of "The Best L.A. Rap Songs". The synthesizer part was programmed by LA Dream Team's former producer The Real Richie Rich.
"Here 4 One" is a song by ten-piece hip-hop group Blazin' Squad, released as the third and final single from the group's second studio album, Now or Never.
"Dance & Shout" and "Hope" is the fourth and final official single from Shaggy's multi-platinum studio album Hot Shot, released on November 19, 2001. The single was made up of two tracks that had previously been released as singles in exclusive territories. "Dance & Shout" samples "Shake Your Body " by The Jacksons.
"Love Is Lost" is a song by English rock musician David Bowie from his album The Next Day. James Murphy's "Hello Steve Reich Mix for the DFA" was released as the fifth single from Bowie's 24th studio album The Next Day as a promotion for The Next Day Extra, a special edition of bonus tracks, remixes, and music videos. The remix version of the song contains cut and looped samples from a new recording of Steve Reich's 1972 piece Clapping Music performed by Murphy and three other musicians, plus a sample from Bowie's 1980 hit "Ashes to Ashes."
"Big Poppa" is a song by American rapper The Notorious B.I.G. It was released as the second single from his first studio album Ready to Die. It features a sample of the song, "Between the Sheets" written by The Isley Brothers. "Big Poppa" was nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 1996 Grammy Awards. It also went on to win at the Billboard Music Awards.
