Michael Carbonara (born May 24, 1983) is an American business executive and political candidate who serves as the chief executive officer and founder of Ibanera, a digital banking platform. [1] He is a Republican candidate for the United States House of Representatives, seeking to represent Florida's 25th congressional district in the 2026 election. [2]

Carbonara attended high school in upstate New York before enrolling at Ulster County Community College, where he earned an associate degree in business administration. [3]

Business career

Carbonara founded Ibanera in 2017, a fintech company that provides cross-border payments, currency conversion, and digital banking services. [4] Partnered with Cross River Bank, [5] the company raised a $18.5 million funding round in 2023. [6]

He founded Gattaca Genomics in 2024. [7]

Political career

Carbonara declared his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida's 25th congressional district for the 2026 election.
