Cayuga County is a county in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census,the population was 76,248. Its county seat and largest city is Auburn. The county was named for the Cayuga people,one of the Native American tribes in the Iroquois Confederation. The county is part of the Central New York region of the state.

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is a volunteer fire service responsible for fire suppression,rescues,and response to other accidents and hazards across most of the state Victoria,Australia. CFA comprises over 1,200 brigades organised in 21 districts,and shares responsibility for fire services with Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV),which employs full-time paid firefighters in major urban areas;and Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMV),which manages fire prevention and suppression on Victoria's public lands. The Firefighters Association of the State of New York,more commonly known as FASNY,is an organization whose mission is to educate,serve and support volunteer firefighters in New York State. FASNY was founded in 1872 and its main headquarters are in Albany,New York. Originally known as the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York,it changed its name in 2022. FASNY currently has more than 40,000 volunteer members. The Firefighters Association maintains the FASNY Firemen's Home and the adjacent FASNY Museum of Firefighting in Hudson NY. FASNY provides information,education and training for the volunteer fire and emergency medical services throughout New York State. FASNY strives to recognize the true champions of these services through numerous awards programs. They also recognize educators for their work in fire prevention education. The Charleston Sofa Super Store fire was a devastating blaze that occurred on the evening of June 18,2007,in Charleston,South Carolina,resulting in the deaths of nine firefighters. It was the deadliest firefighter disaster in the US since the September 11 attacks. The fire,which started in the loading dock of the furniture store,rapidly spread to the main showroom and warehouse,leading to a catastrophic structural collapse. Despite initial firefighting efforts and rescue attempts,the poor water supply and lack of fire sprinkler systems contributed to the tragedy. The site was cleared after the fire,and a new fire station was constructed nearby.
Carlos Antonio Giménez is a Cuban-born American retired firefighter and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Florida's 28th congressional district. He was redistricted from Florida's 26th congressional district in 2022. A Republican,he served as mayor of Miami-Dade County from 2011 to 2020. He served as a Miami-Dade County Commissioner from 2003 to 2011,and was the fire chief of the City of Miami Fire Department.
Zellnor Myrie is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party,he has served in the New York State Senate since 2019,representing the 20th state senate district,which includes parts of Brooklyn. In 2024,Myrie formed an exploratory committee to run for Mayor of New York City in the 2025 mayoral election.
Elections are held in Syracuse,New York,to election the city's mayor. Currently,these elections are regularly scheduled to be held once every four years,with the elections taking place in the off-year immediately after United States presidential election years.
