The Finger Lakes are a group of eleven long,narrow,roughly north–south lakes located directly south of Lake Ontario in an area called the Finger Lakes region in New York,in the United States. Theodore Medad Pomeroy was an American businessman and politician from New York who served as the 26th speaker of the United States House of Representatives for one day,from March 3,1869,to March 4,1869,the shortest American speakership term.
