Pierre Michel Nigro (born 4 September 1955), [1] better known as Michael Fortunati, is an Italo disco/Eurobeat singer.
Pierre Nigro was born in the province of Brindisi, Apulia, Italy but grew up in Hem in the north of France, where he formed the group Carré D'As in the 1970s with his brothers. They released several albums in the 1980s. Nigro then began a solo career under the pseudonym Michael Fortunati, and met success with his first record "Give Me Up", released in the summer of 1986. It was a big hit in Belgium, France and Japan. [1]
He is particularly well known in Japan, where the musical style Eurobeat is popular, and has released many albums and compilations in Japan alone. [2] In 1987, Fortunati performed at the Tokyo Music Festival and won the Grand Prix award in the Disco & Dance Division. He has also appeared on several Japanese TV shows. [1] "Give Me Up" has subsequently been covered by numerous Japanese singers such as BaBe, Yōko Nagayama, Beni Arashiro, Mi, Melon Kinenbi and Nami Tamaki.
Eurobeat refers to two styles of dance music that originated in Europe: one is a British variant of Italian Eurodisco-influenced dance-pop, and the other is a hi-NRG-driven form of Italo disco. Both forms were developed in the 1980s.

Akio Togashi, better known by his stage name m.c.A·T is a Japanese musician, rapper, singer and record producer with Avex Trax. He graduated from Hokkaido Sapporo Tsukisamu High School and the Hokkaido University of Education. His debut single as m.c.A·T, "Bomb A Head!," released in 1993 on Avex Trax, has since been re-released as "Bomb A Head! Returns!" in 2003 featuring DA PUMP and as "Bomb A Head! Elena Ferretti, better known as Sophie or Rose, is an Italian Eurobeat and Italo disco singer. She has performed and recorded for many record labels, under many aliases. Her music was produced by various well-known Italian producers, namely Giacomo Maiolini, Mauro Farina, Sergio Dall'Ora and Giancarlo Pasquini. She often collaborated with Clara Moroni, who wrote many of her compositions. Moroni also did most of the backing vocals/choirs for Ferretti's songs for Time Records. Super Eurobeat presents Hyper Euro Max is the first remix album released by Japanese girlgroup MAX, featuring eurobeat-style remixes of the group's songs. It was released on June 28, 2000 on the Avex Trax label, and reached number five on the Oricon weekly charts.
J-Euro Best is a compilation album, consisting of recordings by various Avex artists produced and/or remixed by various music producers mostly those of eurobeat from Italy, released in 2001 by Avex Trax.
