Michael K. Smith is the current Secretary of the Agency of Human Services for the state of Vermont,a position he has held since October 2019 and previously held from January 2005 to January 2006. [1]
He also served as Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Administration from 2006 to 2008. After leaving government service in 2008,he worked as the President of Vermont Operations for FairPoint Communications and as a radio and television commentator.
The Cabinet of the United States is a body consisting of the vice president of the United States and the heads of the executive branch's departments in the federal government of the United States,which is regarded as the principal advisory body to the president of the United States. The president is not formally a member of the Cabinet. The heads of departments,appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate,are members of the Cabinet,and acting department heads also sit at the Cabinet meetings whether or not they have been officially nominated for Senate confirmation. Leahy was first elected to the Senate in 1974,and previously served as president pro tempore from 2012 to 2015. He is the chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Douglas Alan Racine is a former Vermont Secretary of Human Services,a former Vermont State Senator and was the 78th Lieutenant Governor of Vermont. He is a Democrat. Racine was a candidate for the 2010 Democratic nomination for Governor of Vermont. He previously ran for governor in 2002,but lost to Republican Jim Douglas. In an election where no candidate won a majority,Douglas won a 45% plurality,and Racine declined to contest the outcome before the Vermont General Assembly. Until 2021,Racine was the last Democrat to have served as Lieutenant Governor of Vermont.
Charles Plympton Smith is the Interim Executive Director of the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington,Vermont. He is a former banker and politician from the U.S. state of Vermont who served in the Vermont House of Representatives. The son of banker and state senator Frederick Plympton Smith,he received a B.A. from Harvard College in 1978,following which he attended the University of Melbourne,Melbourne Australia on a one-year Rotary Foundation Scholarship. From 1975 to 1978 he served two terms in the Vermont House of Representatives,alternating semesters between Harvard and the legislature,which meets only in the spring. He was nominated by both the Democratic and Republican parties.
Charles Manley Smith was an American politician from Vermont. He served as the 59th Lieutenant Governor of Vermont from 1933 to 1935 and 63rd Governor of Vermont from 1935 to 1937.

Nancy Lou Montanez Johner is the Chief Executive Officer of Pathfinder Support Services. Montanez was appointed as Under Secretary for Food,Nutrition,and Consumer Services within the United States Department of Agriculture in August 2006 and terminated in January 2009. She was sworn in on August 21,2006. Prior to her appointment,she had been the Director of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. She had held this post since being appointed to the position by Governor Mike Johanns in March 2004. She is a native of Scottsbluff,Nebraska. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The government of Vermont is a republican form of government modeled after the Government of the United States. The Constitution of Vermont is the supreme law of the state,followed by the Vermont Statutes. This is roughly analogous to the Federal United States Constitution,United States Code and Code of Federal Regulations respectively. Provision is made for the following frame of government under the Constitution of the State of Vermont:the executive branch,the legislative branch,and the judicial branch. All members of the executive and legislative branch serve two-year terms including the governor and senators. There are no term limits for any office.

Michael J. Obuchowski is a former member of the Vermont House of Representatives. Elected at age 20 in 1972,he won reelection 19 times,serving continuously from January,1973 until resigning in January,2011 to accept appointment as Vermont's Buildings and General Services Commissioner. Obuchowski served as Speaker from 1995 to 2001.
