Michael Knox [1] is an American music producer and artist manager.
The Macon, Georgia-born Knox, son of rock and roll singer Buddy Knox, [2] is best known for discovering Jason Aldean [3] and producing all of his albums. [4]
He helped Crossin Dixon sign to Broken Bow Records, the same label to which Aldean is signed, after a friend of his saw the band perform. [5] Other artists whom he has produced include Montgomery Gentry and Trace Adkins. [6]
Before working as a producer, Knox was an executive at Warner/Chappell Music. [2] His first production credit was Danni Leigh's "29 Nights". [7] Knox worked as a song plugger. [6] In 2011, Knox won Album of the Year from the Country Music Association for his production on My Kinda Party . [2] He produced Canadian country artist Sykamore's debut album Pinto in 2022. [8] [9]

Six songs were recorded for the film and the soundtrack was issued as an extended play record in August 1962 to coincide with the film's premiere. The extended play record was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on March 27, 1992, for the sales of 250,000 copies. The featured song from the album, "King of the Whole Wide World", received Top 40 radio airplay and reached No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The extended play record was the number-one EP in the UK for 17 weeks.
