Michael Lane is an English politician and former Royal Navy Commodore,and the former Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire,representing the Conservative Party. He was elected to the post on 5 May 2016,succeeding the previous incumbent,Simon Hayes. Lane served as a councillor with Gosport Borough Council from 2010 to 2014. [1]

Simon Alexander Hayes is a British politician. He served as the Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire Constabulary from 2012 to 2016. He was the first person to hold the post and was elected on 15 November 2012 as an Independent. He received 47,632 first preference votes from an electorate of nearly 1.5 million on a turnout of 14.6% at the PCC Election in 2012. Hayes was one of the minority Independent PCCs country and as such has no party-political affiliations.
The South East Hampshire Bus Rapid Transit is a 3.4 kilometres (2.1 mi) unguided busway between Gosport and Fareham in the county of Hampshire,the road itself is called Henry Cort Way and is named after an ironware producer. The busway scheme is sponsored by Hampshire County Council using the route of the former Fareham to Gosport Line to reduce congestion on the parallel A32 between the towns.

Turnout was an average of 34.1% across the elections,with Wales having much higher turnout mainly due to the simultaneous Senedd election held across Wales,whereas only parts of England had simultaneous local elections.
