Lohan attended Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick, New York, on Long Island. There he was a member of the basketball and swimming-and-diving teams, as well as the lacrosse, for which he was an academic all-conference selection. [2] In 2010 he graduated from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he studied business administration. [5] He also played lacrosse as a midfielder in 2007, 2009, and 2010, missing the 2008 season due to a wrist injury. [2]
Sanford H. Calhoun High School is a public high school located in Merrick, New York. Established in 1958, Calhoun is one of three high schools in the Bellmore–Merrick Central High School District, and acts as a magnet school for several programs.
Merrick is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the CDP population was 22,097. The name Merrick is taken from Meroke, the name of the Algonquian tribe formerly indigenous to the area. It is served by the Merrick station on the Long Island Rail Road on the Babylon line.
Long Island is a densely populated island off the East Coast of the United States, beginning at New York Harbor approximately 0.35 miles (0.56 km) from Manhattan Island and extending eastward into the Atlantic Ocean. The island comprises four counties in the U.S. state of New York. Kings and Queens Counties and Nassau County share the western third of the island, while Suffolk County occupies the eastern two-thirds. More than half of New York City's residents now live on Long Island, in Brooklyn and Queens. However, many people in the New York metropolitan area colloquially use the term Long Island to refer exclusively to Nassau and Suffolk Counties, which are mainly suburban in character, conversely employing the term the City to mean Manhattan alone.
A year after college, Lohan worked for New York City tavern corporation FunBars, heading corporate events for the hospitality group. In 2012, he became a strategic advisor for the karaoke app Just Sing It, and by 2014 was working for the shopping app Vigme. [6]
Karaoke is a form of interactive entertainment or video game developed in Japan in which an amateur singer sings along with recorded music using a microphone. The music is usually an instrumental version of a well-known popular song. Lyrics are usually displayed on a video screen, along with a moving symbol, changing color, or music video images, to guide the singer. In several Asian countries such as China, Cambodia or the Philippines, a karaoke box is called a KTV. The global karaoke market has been estimated to be worth nearly $10 billion.
On October 29, 2015, Lohan was arrested in New York City and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal impersonation for allegedly displaying a forged U.S. government placard on his vehicle to avoid paying for parking. On February 17, 2016, Manhattan Criminal Court granted him a conditional dismissal with community service, after which the case will be dismissed and sealed. [7]
A conditional dismissal is a dismissal subject to conditions—for example, the dismissal of a suit for foreclosure of a mortgage, subject to receipt of payment in the amount of a tender which induced the dismissal. Thompson v Crains, 294 Ill 270, 128 NE 508, 12 ALR 931.
