Michael Anthony Mauro (born September 29,1948) was the Iowa Secretary of State. He previously served as County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections for Polk County,Iowa for nearly a decade. Mauro is also a former high school government teacher and coach,and is a graduate of Drake University.
Mauro was elected to be Iowa's 30th Secretary of State on November 7,2006,with 541,234 votes,defeating Republican opponent Mary Ann Hanusa. [1]
In November 2010,Mauro was defeated for reelection. [2]

Iowa's 4th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Iowa that covers the western border of the state, including Sioux City and Council Bluffs. Up north, it extends eastwards into Ames, Boone, Fort Dodge, and Marshalltown. It has been represented by Republican Randy Feenstra since 2021, who defeated longtime incumbent Steve King in 2020. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+16, it is the most Republican district in Iowa, a state with an all-Republican congressional delegation.
Paul Danny Pate Jr. is an American businessman and politician serving as the 32nd Secretary of State of Iowa since 2015, previously holding the office from 1995 to 1999. Pate is the past president of the National Association of Secretaries of State. A member of the Republican Party, he was also in the Iowa Senate from 1989 to 1995 and Mayor of Cedar Rapids from 2002 to 2006. He was an unsuccessful candidate for his party's nomination for Governor of Iowa in 1998.
Jerry Behn is an American politician who served as a member of the Iowa Senate for the 24th district from 1997 to 2021.
Matthew W. "Matt" McCoy is a member of the Board of Supervisors of Polk County, Iowa, representing the fifth district. A member of the Iowa Democratic Party, McCoy served in the Iowa Senate from 1997 to 2019 and the Iowa House of Representatives from 1993 to 1997. McCoy was the first openly gay member of the Iowa General Assembly.

United States gubernatorial elections were held on November 2, 2010, in 37 states and two territories. These elections coincided with the elections for the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives as well as other state and local elections. As in most midterm elections, the party controlling the White House lost ground. Democrats took five governorships from the Republicans, while Republicans took 12 governorships from the Democrats. An independent won one governorship previously held by a Republican, while a Republican won one governorship previously held by an independent. Republicans held a majority of governorships for the first time since before the 2006 elections. One state, Louisiana, had no election for governor, but it did feature a special election for lieutenant governor.
Patrick Grassley is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party, he is the grandson of Iowa United States Senator Chuck Grassley. He has served as the Iowa State Representative for its 57th District since 2023, having previously served the state's 17th (2007–2013) and 50th (2013–2023) districts in the Iowa House of Representatives. He was elected Speaker of the state's House in 2020.

Zirkelbach served in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 31st District, from 2005 to 2011.
