Kailasam Balachandar was an Indian filmmaker and playwright who worked mainly in the Tamil cinema. He was well known for his distinct film-making style, and the Indian film industry knew him as a master of unconventional themes and hard-hitting contemporary subject matter. Balachander's films are well known for their portrayal of women as bold personalities and central characters. Popularly referred to as Iyakkunar Sigaram, his films are usually centred on unusual or complicated interpersonal relationships and social themes. He started his film career in 1964 as a screenwriter and graduated to a director with Neerkumizhi (1965).

Muthu (transl. Pearl) is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by K. S. Ravikumar, and produced by Kavithalayaa Productions. The film stars Rajinikanth and Meena, with Sarath Babu, Radha Ravi, Senthil, Vadivelu, Jayabharathi, Subhashri and Ponnambalam all acting in supporting roles. It is a remake of the Malayalam film Thenmavin Kombath (1994). The film revolves around a zamindar and his worker falling in love with the same woman who, unknown to the zamindar, loves the worker exclusively.
Tamil cinema, also known as Kollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema, dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Tamil language widely spoken in the state of Tamil Nadu. Ponnambalam is an Indian actor and stuntman who has predominantly appeared in Tamil-language films. He is best known for playing antagonistic roles in Indian films during the 1990s, notably appearing in films such as Nattamai (1994), Muthu (1995) and Amarkalam (1999). Later in his career, Ponnambalam also appeared in a few leading roles, while also taking up the mantle of director and producer.
Vinodhini Vaidyanathan is an Indian actress and writer who has mainly worked in Tamil cinema and theatre. She made her debut in A. R. Murugadoss's Engaeyum Eppothum portraying Ananya's sister. She is best known for her performances in OK Kanmani (2015), Appa (2016), Aandavan Kattalai (2016), Ratsasan (2018), Comali (2019), Game Over (2019), Ponmagal Vandhal (2020) and Soorarai Pottru (2020), Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022) and Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023).
Pa. Ranjith is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He made his directorial debut with the 2012 romantic comedy Attakathi, before earning unanimously positive reviews for his second film, the political action-drama Madras (2014). He wrote and directed the action-drama films Kabali in 2016 and Kaala in 2018, both starring Rajinikanth.

Nambirajan is an Indian film director who has worked on Tamil films. He made his directorial debut in the 1980s, before proceeding to make Nila (1994) and Chandralekha (1995).
Lyca Productions is an Indian entertainment company, which was established by Subaskaran Allirajah in 2014. A subgroup of Lycamobile, the production studio has been involved in the production and distribution of Tamil films and Hindi films made in India. Jagadeesh Kanna is an Indian stage actor, playwright, film director, and lyricist best known for writing and directing Oru Cup Coffee, a short film on mercy killing. and Never Give Up, a play inspired by the life of Olympic athlete Derek Redmond. Kanna had his acting debut as the lead in the crowd-funded Tamil film Naalu Peruku Nalladhuna Edhuvum Thappilla He is also the founder and CEO of Vaayusastra Aerospace, an educational and research firm combining theatre and aeronautics, with the goal of taking aeronautical knowledge to every village in India. Vaayusastra Aerospace is incubated and funded under IIT Madras's RTBI. Kanna is the author of fortnightly column that combines storytelling with aeronautical science in The Hindu Young World Magazine.
Venkataraman Gopalakrishnan, was an Indian stage and film actor who was active in Tamil cinema during the latter half of the 20th century. He was well known for playing negative and supporting roles, but was also a successful character actor. In a career spanning close to five decades, he acted in more than 400 movies in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. With his eloquent and stylish English. The film industry admired his strong English.
