Michael John Norman (born 17 August 1952 in Launceston,Tasmania) is a former Australian cricket player,who played for Tasmania.
Norman was a right-handed batsman who represented Tasmania from 1975 until 1979. He played in Tasmania's inaugural Sheffield Shield match in October 1977. [1] He made his highest first-class score on his first-class debut against the West Indians in 1975-76 when he top-scored in Tasmania's first innings with 65. [2]

Michael Anthony Holding is a Jamaican former cricketer and commentator who played for the West Indies cricket team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest pace bowlers in cricket history,he was nicknamed "Whispering Death" due to his silent,light-footed run up to the bowling crease. His bowling action was famously smooth and extremely fast,and he used his height to generate large amounts of bounce and zip off the pitch. He was part of the fearsome West Indian pace bowling battery,together with Andy Roberts,Joel Garner,Colin Croft,Wayne Daniel,Malcolm Marshall and Sylvester Clarke,that devastated opposing batting line-ups throughout the world in the late seventies and early eighties. Early in his Test career,in 1976,Holding broke the record for best bowling figures in a Test match by a West Indies bowler,14 wickets for 149 runs (14/149). The record still stands. During his first-class cricket career,Holding played for Jamaica,Canterbury,Derbyshire,Lancashire and Tasmania. In September 2021,Holding announced his retirement from being a commentator.
Sir Clyde Leopold Walcott KA,GCM,OBE was a West Indian cricketer. Walcott was a member of the "three W's",the other two being Everton Weekes and Frank Worrell:all were very successful batsmen from Barbados,born within a short distance of each other in Bridgetown,Barbados in a period of 18 months from August 1924 to January 1926;all made their Test cricket debut against England in 1948. In the mid-1950s,Walcott was arguably the best batsman in the world. In later life,he had an active career as a cricket administrator,and was the first non-English and non-white chairman of the International Cricket Council.
Sir Anderson Montgomery Everton Roberts,KCN is a former Antiguan first-class cricketer who is considered the father of modern West Indian fast bowling. Roberts played Test cricket for the West Indies,twice taking seven wickets in a Test innings. Arriving in England in 1972,he played first-class cricket for Hampshire County Cricket Club and then later for Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
Rohan Bholalall Kanhai is a Guyanese former cricketer,who represented the West Indies in 79 Test matches. He is widely considered to be one of the best batsmen of the 1960s. Kanhai featured in several great West Indian teams,playing alongside Sir Garfield Sobers,Roy Fredericks,Lance Gibbs,and Alvin Kallicharran among others. C. L. R. John Harry Hampshire,also known as Jack Hampshire,was an English cricketer and umpire,who played eight Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) for England between 1969 and 1975. He played first-class cricket for Yorkshire from 1961 to 1981,and for Derbyshire from 1982 to 1984. Overseas,he was a successful captain of Tasmania in the period before the state was included in the Sheffield Shield. He was also appointed President of Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 2016,serving until his death.

Damien Geoffrey Wright is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who coached Hobart Hurricanes cricket team. Wright made his debut for Tasmania in 1997,playing with the team until switching to Victoria for the 2008–09 season. In 2002 he played in the Scottish cricket team as their one permitted overseas player—he also had previous spells in county cricket with Northamptonshire,Glamorgan and Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He has a side-on bowling action and an ability to bounce the ball sharply. Wright started Coaching the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League 03 in 2013–14,he coached the team to defeat the Melbourne Stars,who were undefeated in the tournament until then. The Hurricanes then lost the final to the Perth Scorchers. Wright then coached the Hurricanes to the semi-finals in the Champions League T20 2014 in India.
James Donald Higgs is a former Australian leg spinner who played in 22 Test matches between 1978 and 1981. In the words of Gideon Haigh "Jim Higgs was Australia's best legspinner between Richie Benaud and Warne. Robert Samuel Langer is a former cricketer who played for Western Australia in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a left-handed middle order batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler. Langer's first-class career extended from 1973–1974 until 1981–1982. He made 2,756 first-class runs in 44 matches at an average of 43.06 with a highest score of 150 not out. In 15 limited overs matches,his best score was 99 not out in a total of 338 runs at 28.16 average. Langer scored five first-class hundreds and 18 half-centuries during his career. In 1977,he signed to play World Series Cricket for the WSC Australian team and spent the 1977–78 and 1978–79 seasons with WSC.
Michael David Taylor was an Australian first class cricketer who played for Victoria and Tasmania,and despite never playing Test cricket or One Day Internationals for Australia,also participated in the South African rebel tours. Highlights of his career included 1000 first class runs in a season while playing with both Victoria and Tasmania and an unbeaten 234 for Victoria against the touring West Indians in Melbourne in 1984–85.
