Michael Patterson is an American record producer and mixer. He has worked on the albums Midnite Vultures [1] (1999) by Beck (where he was nominated for a Grammy award [2] ), Life After Death [3] (1997) by Notorious B.I.G., the debut album by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, B.R.M.C. [4] (2001), and dark pop duo She Wants Revenge's first two albums, She Wants Revenge [5] and This Is Forever . [6]

He also mixed the soundtrack and score to The Social Network [7] and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo . [8]

He has remixed such artists as Tricky, [9] Mindless Self Indulgence [10] and Puscifer [11] (under the name Narcovice). Patterson works out of his studio "The Pleasuredome" in Los Angeles, California.[ citation needed ]

He also produced several songs for the 2007 Duran Duran album, Reportage . They were put aside following Andy Taylor's departure from the band; Duran Duran fansites have called this the "Lost Michael Patterson album". [12] [13]

Patterson produced Spleen United Neanderthal (for which he was nominated for a Danish music critics award for best producer 2008). [14]

Patterson was born in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 2015 alongside his friend and business partner Adam Bravin, Patterson created the goth oriented club Cloak & Dagger [15] in Los Angeles, California. In June 2020 the club was closed amidst allegations of sexual misconduct, [16] sexual harassment [17] and discriminatory treatment against people of color. [18]

Cruel Melody is the debut album of American rock band Black Light Burns, released on June 5, 2007, through Ross Robinson's label I AM: WOLFPACK. The album is an outcome of frontman Wes Borland's efforts after his departure from Limp Bizkit in 2001, after which he took part in many projects such as Eat the Day and The Damning Well. After receiving additional inputs from then members Danny Lohner, Josh Freese and Josh Eustis, Cruel Melody was released in the spring of 2007.

"Victory" is a song by American rapper and producer Sean Combs, under his then stage name Puff Daddy. The song features vocals from rappers such as the late Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes. It features heavy use of mafioso-style lyrics, as was popular at the time. The song also heavily sampled the Bill Conti song "Going the Distance", which featured on the soundtrack to the movie Rocky making it a darker start to a rap album that featured many club-standard singles, it also featured the last verses recorded by The Notorious B.I.G. before his 1997 death as these verses were recorded a day before his shooting. Released as the fifth and final single from No Way Out in March 1998, it peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and was certified gold by the RIAA later that year.

On September 17, a five-track sampler was also made available for free. The score bears a similar sound to the previous Reznor/Ross 2008 collaboration, Ghosts I–IV, and even features two slightly reworked tracks from Ghosts; the track "Magnetic" and "A Familiar Taste".

Not the Actual Events is the third extended play (EP) and tenth major release by the American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. It was released physically on December 23, 2016, under Trent Reznor's own label The Null Corporation, while those who had pre-ordered received a download link a day early. The second Nine Inch Nails EP of original material following Broken (1992), it marks longtime collaborator Atticus Ross's first appearance as an official member of the band. The digital pre-orders included a "physical component" that was shipped in early March 2017. The EP is the first in a trilogy released in 2016–2018, preceding Add Violence (2017) and the band's ninth studio album Bad Witch (2018).
