Michael Perry (born November 10, 1958) is an American college basketball coach who last served as an assistant men's basketball coach at East Carolina University. [1] Prior to joining the Pirates program, he served as the head men's basketball coach at Georgia State University from 2003 through 2007, and also held assistant coaching positions at Georgia State, Richmond and Virginia Union University. Perry also served as interim head coach of ECU for the second half of the 2016-17 season when head coach Jeff Lebo underwent hip surgery and missed the rest of the season. [2] He was named interim head coach of ECU following Lebo's resignation on November 29, 2017. [3]
Perry played for the University of Richmond from 1978 through 1981 and finished his career as the Spiders' career leader in points scored (2,145). Only Johnny Newman has since surpassed that total in a Spiders uniform. Perry was selected in the ninth round of the 1981 NBA draft by the Kansas City Kings.

Michael Terrence Holland is an American college athletics administrator and former basketball player and coach. He is currently the Emeritus Director of Athletics and special assistant to Chancellor Steve Ballard at East Carolina University. Holland served as the head men's basketball coach at Davidson College from 1969 to 1974 and at the University of Virginia from 1974 to 1990, compiling a career college basketball coaching record of 418–216. While coaching at Virginia, he was responsible for signing the nation's top-ranked high school basketball player, seven-foot-four-inch Ralph Sampson, who went on to become a three-time consensus collegiate national player-of-the-year as a Cavalier. Following his retirement from coaching, Holland was the athletic director at Davidson from 1990 to 1994, at Virginia from 1994 to 2001, and at East Carolina from 2004 to 2013.
Felton Jeffrey Capel III is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the University of Pittsburgh's Panthers men's basketball team. He played for Duke University and was a head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Oklahoma.
Frank Mills Dobson was an American football, basketball, and baseball coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Georgia, Clemson University (1910–1912), the University of Richmond, the University of South Carolina (1918), the University of Maryland (1936–1939), and The Apprentice School (1940–1948), compiling a career record of 137–142–24. Dobson was also the head basketball coach at Clemson (1911–1913) and Richmond and the head baseball coach at Clemson (1911–1913) and Richmond (1915–1933).
Cecil Pope Staton Jr. is an American politician and academic administrator. He served as the Chancellor of East Carolina University from 2016 to 2019. Previously, Staton served as Interim President of Valdosta State University (2015–2016) and as Vice Chancellor for Extended Education with the University System of Georgia (2014–2016).
The East Carolina Pirates are the athletic teams that represent East Carolina University (ECU), located in Greenville, North Carolina. All varsity-level sports teams except for women's lacrosse participate at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of the American Athletic Conference. The women's lacrosse team, newly launched for the 2018 season, is playing its inaugural season as a Division I independent before becoming a charter member of The American's new women's lacrosse league in the 2019 season. The school became an NCAA member in 1961.

Jeffrey Brian Lebo is an American basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League. He was previously the head men's basketball coach at East Carolina (2010-2017), Auburn University (2004–2010), the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2002–04), and Tennessee Tech (1998–2002). Before becoming a head coach, he spent a total of eight years as an assistant coach at South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and East Tennessee State.
Bill Dooley is the former head men's basketball coach at the University of Richmond from 1993 through 1997. Prior to taking the helm of the Spiders basketball program, he served as assistant coach at Richmond for eight years under Dick Tarrant. Dooley began his collegiate playing career at Catholic University before transferring to the University of Richmond, where he served as team captain for the 1982-83 season. Dooley is currently an assistant coach at the University of Hartford after serving as varsity boys' basketball coach at Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia.
The Richmond Spiders men's basketball team represents the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia and currently competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The team plays its home games at the Robins Center. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2011 under head coach Chris Mooney, who has guided the program since the 2005–2006 season.

They finished the season 15–18, 6–12 in AAC play to finish in ninth place. They defeated Temple in the first round of the AAC Tournament to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to SMU.
