Michael Robson (born 18 April 1995) is a field hockey player from Ireland. [1] [2]

Robson was born on 18 April 1995. [3] [4]

His younger brother, Callum, also plays international field hockey for Ireland. [5]

Field hockey

Domestic league

Robson currently competes in the Irish Hockey League, where he represents Annadale. [1] [6]

Under–21

He made his debut for the Irish U–21 team in 2014 during a four-nations tournament in Belfast. [7]

Senior national team

Robson made his senior international debut in 2014. He appeared in a test match against England in Reading. [7]

Since his debut, Robson has been present at numerous international events and has medalled with the national team on four occasions. He took home gold at the 2023 EuroHockey Championship II in Dublin, silver at the 2018–19 FIH Series Finals in Le Touquet, and bronze at the 2015 EuroHockey Championship in London and the 2021 EuroHockey Championship II in Gniezno. In 2016 he travelled to Rio de Janeiro as a reserve player for the Summer Olympic Games. [11] [12]

Between 1980 and 1991 he made 135 senior appearances for Ireland. He also captained the Ireland team. Iain Lewers is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. He was also a member the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship and 2014 Commonwealth Games. He also represented England at the 2013 and 2015 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championships and at the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup. In both 2014 and 2015 Lewers was named the England/Great Britain Player of the Year by the Hockey Writers' Club.

Mark Gleghorne is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who has represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Gleghorne was a member of the England teams that won the bronze medals at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. He also represented England at the 2014 and 2018 Men's Hockey World Cups. At club level, Gleghorne was a member of the Instonians team that won the Irish Senior Cup in both 2002 and 2004. He was also a member of the Punjab Warriors team that won the 2016 Hockey India League title. Gleghorne is a member of a family of field hockey internationals.
