Michalis Polynikis (born 6 November 1948 in Paphos) is a Cypriot politician. Between 29 February 2008 and 2 March 2010 he was the Minister of Agriculture and Environment in Cyprus. [1]

Michalis Ioannou is a Greek Cypriot professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Cypriot First Division club Anorthosis. A product of Anorthosis Famagusta's football academy, Ioannou represented his country at various age groups before making his international debut for the Cyprus national team in 2019.

The 1958–59 Cypriot Cup was the 19th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 18 clubs entered the competition. It began on 9 April 1959 with the first round and concluded on 27 June 1959 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium. Anorthosis Famagusta won their 2nd Cypriot Cup trophy after beating AEL Limassol 1–0 in the final.

The 2021 Cyprus T20I Cup was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Cyprus in October 2021. The participating teams were the hosts Cyprus along with Estonia and Isle of Man. On 5 October, Cyprus and Estonia played a two-match bilateral series, which were the first official T20I matches for both sides, before the tri-nation Cyprus T20I Cup began on 6 October. The venue for the matches was the Happy Valley Ground in Episkopi, within the Cypriot district of Limassol.

Mihalis Yasemi, known as Sialis, was a Cypriot footballer. He played for Anorthosis Famagusta from 1955 until 1963, when he retired at age 25 to emigrate to Australia. Deployed in different attacking positions but mostly as a right winger, he scored 69 goals in 95 appearances and was top scorer of his team from 1961 to 1963. Yasemi played in the Cyprus national team's first official match, which was against Israel, and also scored in his second and last appearance, also against Israel. He died on 25 December 2017 in Australia, where he lived, at the age of 78.
